When to buy

When should I buy or reserve the bigger items for baby, like cot and pushchair?

OH thinks we should wait until I get to 30 weeks but I'm not sure if that's too late? Do you have to wait weeks for the items or are they normally delivered within a week?

When is everyone else ordering these items?

Ive ordered my pram but thats only becasue icandy are made to order, my nursery furniture im ordering end of june - i will be bout 27 weeks then. It all depends when you want to finish your nursery, i want mine finished before i finish work. Hope ive helped? xxx

I ordered my pram at 20wks. and bought nursery furniture at 24wks

I bought nursery furniture at 24 ish weeks and the pram last week about 28 weeks
However big mistake as have gone for an iCandy and they had an 18 week waiting list in shop I went to!
Managed to get one in July in the end but maybe worth getting pram earlier than later!

There's no right time to buy baby things, it's when you both feel comfortable. I wouldn't say 30 weeks is too late xx

I ordered my buggy at 20 weeks (although this was during my first pregnancy - I am using the same one again this time so already have it!).

I ordered my buggy at about 8wks. Only cuz it was on sale and we didn't wana miss out. But we didn't pay the full amount til last week cuz we didn't want it here too early. It arrived 3 days after we paid the balance.

Getting nursery furniture in the next 2wks, cuz we wana get the room carpeted first. So 32wks for that.
We bought a crib a few weeks ago though in case she comes early lol x

Our biggest outlay will be cot and pram and we're going to start looking at these after 20 week scan.

So far I've bought a few odd bits (white baby-grows and sleep suits, white muslins and some white bibs and mittens) but I wouldn't dream of looking at anything "big" just yet.

However after 20 weeks I think I'll be confident enough to get the big purchases!

We're staying team yellow so we're not going to be able to go too overboard with clothes at least

I bought my cot today! To be honest, I felt it was a bit early to buy it but as I was buying furniture from Argos anyway, it made sense to get the cot now so I've only got one delivery charge to pay.
I now technically have two cots and mum managed to pick a virtually unused one at the local charity shop to keep at her house!

I bought a few bits after my 12 week scan but only toiletries really and bibs etc. then after my 20 wk scan bought couple of outfits And now I'm 22 weeks have bought the cot and pram xx

I'll be getting the pram and travel cot as soon as I hit Tri 3 as I need to get my dog used to walking near the pram and not been freaked out by it.

Think we bought our pram no long after 12 week scan we only went o look but was such a good offer so snapped it up is not being delivered till mid september but I sooooo wana play with it lol Im such a big kid

still undecided about the cot as we have a moses basket whch we will use for first few months but will need o look at one before the birth id reakon in case i takes a while to be delivered xx

I ran around Ikea yesterday like a kid in a sweet shop looking at nursery furniture, but we won't be buying for a while yet (you've just GOT to look though haven't you?)

For little stuff, as soon as I hit 12 weeks I'm intending to add something to the shopping every week, but for larger stuff, probably start thinking about buying after the 20 week scan....I'm a bit funny though and the pram won't be allowed in the house until after bump is here (even if it's in Mum and Dad's, it won't be allowed in my house)

We ordered our pram at 16 weeks, just because it was on sale + we didn't want to miss out! But it was on the mothercare baby plan, so isn't being delivered for a while yet.. And we still haven't got any nursery furniture as we are still living with the inlaws!! haha xx

oooooh I went to Ikea on Saturday which is what has got me started. I've only bought little things so far but looking at all the cots and everything got me all excited. eeeek!!

I ordered my pram at 13weeks, only paid deposit. An pick up end of June. Iv gone for an iCandy too, and there in demand, so best to get it sorted!!! Plus... They was and offer on of a free car seat! Usually costs £130 so was a big saving!!! Were getting furniture from my sister and cot from sis in law. But there coming this week, and I'm 33weeks! I want nursery finished by next week so I can start putting the finishing touches, and get babies clothes all ready.
My advice was to spend some time shopping about and check out delivery times, cause you don't want to be rushing around near your due date!xx

14 weeks from the pram and 18 weeks for moses basket - nothing else yet. Will probably wait till after the 20 week scan and then buy loads thereafter as I am FAR too excited!

well with mamas and papas you can order the big things at 25% deposit and not get them delivered until you want them, they are doing free delivery at the mo too. Plus you can go in and pay bits off as and when you want. plus if you put a deposit down when its in sale you secure that price and if it goes down further they will do it for you. you can change mind on colour and request dates too with a descent amount of notice. or if you change your mind completely or if something god for bid goes wrong you can have a refund.

Oh pants! I haven't got my pram yet and am now thinking I've left it a bit late. Defo have to get a wriggle on this weekend then.

I have everything else except a crib which should arrive in the next 4 weeks xx
