when do they check your cervix?

Hi girls. I was just wondering when the MW checks your cervix to find out if it is soft or not etc? And what do they look for? I don't have a MW appointment until next week (39 weeks) and then the obstetrician on my due date. Will the MW check next week?

They only do an internal when they give you a sweep unless theres another reason I think. I don't know about consultant appointments though x

Oh i am not sure. Hope my consultant doesn't want to check mine... he creeps me out!!! xxx

They dont do any internals here unless theres any problems before 41 weeks unless youre in labour x

Ah right. I thought maybe they would check near the due date to see if your body was getting ready. I'm glad they don't do it routinely!
