When are you thinking you'll stop work?

I'm hoping to start my maternity offically on 30th July ( Due 14th August ) but I'm taking two weeks annual leave from the 16th July - 28th July :)

Glad you have it all sorted hun.... I think because our bosses are dificult (to say the least) it makes our decisions so awkward. How many weeks before Pickles EDD have you stated you would like to take?

I seriously need to start thinking about how I am going to manage my holiday/ML.... I think 2/3 weeks before my EDD should be enough and I should be able to use my holiday (well company policy states that I can)
xx

Its a shame that hes so awkward, it means that I've had to reasrach everything first, so that when I speak to him that I know my rights and I follow up in writing. He's already cross that I get a year ML and holiday entitlement too - grrrr!

I was planning to work to 38 weeks and use the final 2 weeks as holiday. I'll have 45 days holiday owed when I leave. So I'll use as many as needed from 38 weeks until Pickle is actually born and start my SMP the day after he arrives. The remaining days holiday I think I'll tack onto the end of my ML so that I get as much time at home with Pickle as I can.

I know it's s irritating that I know the policy inside out! I doubt my boss has even looked at it, I am positive there will be a heated debate as to what my etitlements are. I am armed with the HR policy so I am just going to stick to my guns.

Good plan opn the ML front. I only have 25 days holiday we can't carry over more than 5 days per year. Lucky you having 45 days! x

Karate Kid - the 45 days is made up of 20 days entitlement for 2012 (I've not taken any so far) 14 days for 2013 and 11 days bank holidays during the period.

The bank holidays are still paid at the normal rate and are in addition to your contractural days holiday - have you included these in your planning?

Oh no! Thanks hun! I will clearly have to read into the finer details xx

I haven't decided what to do yet .. I want to work up as late as possible, but at the minute will just be seeing how the pregnancy goes, and how my back holds out (I have 2 slipped discs in my lower back)

I have a bit of annual leave to use up before I go off, so hoping to leave work at about 36 weeks inclusive of annual leave.

All the women in my family have always gone into early labour ... but I bet I'll be about 2 weeks late!

i only get 6 months paid so i want to go as long as i can so i get longer afterwards even if it isnt by much.. but saying that im on my feet all day in a busy hairdressers and it will be during the summer so i expect il get really hot and bothered.. and im struggeling as it is with my back and feet and im only 14 weeks!!
