What's going on with Maybe these days....

Hiya Maybe :)

I think that all in all it sounds very positive, you know I'm one for assuming the worst and doing something about it! ;)

Do be careful though - I don't know of it harming a baby in too high amounts, but maybe it could feminise a male foetus? Maybe that's ridiculous? lol

Also inconsistent dosage could actually cause a miscarriage...

Just be very methodical about it :) I'll tell you the dosage of my progesterone pessaries for IVF when I get home.

I am just sending you all the luck in the world x

Hi Lou,

Hope you're having a lovely time!

How are you feeling on your meds?

It says on the progesterone instructions to take 600mg per day, and when I spoke to the nurse at the trial they said the dosage was 800mg per day, would be great if you could check though.

I bet I don't get preggers for ages now lol!

Oh well Clomid soon enough...

xx

hi maybe,

im so frustrated for you that you are still going through all of this with no real answers.

its amazing how docs can sit so close and not have any conversation about patients at all, or the resources available!!

as i was reading through i was thinking, im sure louise has mentioned possible risks in the past with using progesterone, be careful with it hun and i'm sure you already have but do a little research.

as always i wish you all the luck in the world. i dont think u'l be waiting for that bfp long and then you can get on with your experiment xxxxxxxxxx

Thanks Pos and Olive, i've done quite a bit of research and I'm having my CD21's again too so I will know if it is on the low side and whether to take it.

My MIL is a nurse and she has friends that are IVF docs so I could run it by her but I think she might tell me off, I reckon I'll end up telling her though.

My biggest worry is that it would maintain an already failing pregnancy, but in that case the problem would likely be chromosome related and I have about a 5% chance that that is my problem and a 25% change of it being progesterone.

Hi maybe, I was reading your thread and wondering if they did your 21 day bloods.

Its frustrating to hear you have had so many chemicals and noone even pointed out.

My experience with NHS is horrible too - I had wacky cycles after coming off the pill but all the hormones came back normal. Doctor back in Moscow put me on progesteron for lutheal support but they dont do it here.

I got PG ealy last year but ran out of progesterone and NHS wouldnt prescribe it to me despite me begging to do it privately, I had to wean myself off the progesterone and had a MC.

Next time I got hold of a private doctor who put me on 400mg of progesterone a day, there was no need for clomid at all, I got PG naturally.

I dont know if it was a coincidence but I wasnt going to take a chance.

MC can be caused by a few things but in some cases progesterone helps, it was confirmed to me by a leading specialist I saw privately.

It worked for me, hopefully it will help you. They put me on Cyclogest and I stayed on it until 16 weeks. Obviously its expensive but so worth it!

My tablets are called Utrogestan (progesterone) and they are 200mg capsules and i need to take two per day, 12 hours apart - so at 9am and 9pm for example.

So that's 400mg per day, quite a lot less than 600mg or 800mg...

What are you doing about the trial? Are you going to use the tablets they give and use the cream also?

I wonder if there is a way to work out if you have a placebo or not :eh:

have you maybe considered DH Sperm fragmentation as that can have a huge impact on why it may not implant etc.

Also another to check is Hidden Chamidia its not detected on the usual test they do at docs think it has to be a menstrual blood test (literally) or something and can be treated with antibiotics. not sure if many clinics do it over here.

Do they do lining scan for you to see how thick your lining is and if its favourable for implantation?

Maybe also look to a hysteroscopy if they dont pick much up if you havent had one. ive heard some places do the grooves in the wall too to help implantation

This is just things ive looked at recently when helping a friend with her treatment and what she needed to look to/for.

Hi Hun,

Thanks for that advice, and I'm glad it worked for you.

I'm a bit unsure how much to take I was going to do a clinical trial where the dosage was going to be 800mg, I'll have to do some more research.

I bought my tablets in France, only €5 a box so FX I'll have enough, if worst comes to the worst and I run out I'm going away again soon!

Hi Lou,

Well on the packet instructions is says to take 600mg per day for treatment of spontaneous abortion, I reckon I will go with that amount half way between the 800mg the trial are meant to put me on and half way between your dosage.

I bought these tablets on holiday, what a souvenir eh I had to blag they were for my crazy menopausal Mum who couldn't come off the boat to get them!!
