Most babies first words was mummy / daddy but my daughters was sauce as in tomatoe sauce
lol...i fed her endless nights and tiredness was terrible with her as she had bad colic and i got sauce. i hope my so apprieciates me better than food when hes older lol..

mummum was her first noticable word technically.... but Cat was her cognitive word that couldn't be confused with babbling... she started saying that when she was around 7 months old :) Apparently I never said mum or dad first... I said NO... it explains alot according to my mum

Ta, as in cat, then ta as in thank you (there is a difference you know! ) then ka as in car

I guess it is nonsense to anyone other than mum n dad

first proper word that couldnt be mistaken for babbling was "jizzie" Jessie our cat

mine was duck.. :rotfl:

apparently i just went round pointing at everything saying 'DUCK!'

we got our first 'proper' word yesterday - it was Doggy :?

bloody typical

I dont care whats this ones is as long as it isnt nanny

lol well im not alone then with my child not having me as there first word lol

hmm its kinda hard to say, she made sounds at 7 months that sounded like "mama" but she certainly didnt associate that sound with me, so idk if that counts.

her first PROPER word, which was unmistakeable and spoken perfectly, was "princess" :D she said it recently, its coz i always call her princess i think. :)

my boys first word was 'teddy' just before his first birthday, I remember it so clearly, we even got him a chocolate teddy cake because it was what he had said first! he is 8 now!

we get lots of mumumum and dadadad but not in relation to either of us - he says mumumumum when he's grumbling and cross  he also says yeah and no but again, not really in relation to the meanings. so i don't class any of it as proper first words. wish he'd hurry up and say something nice though

apparently my first word was pretty :cheer:

abigails first propper words was "again" now she says mamma, dadda, gone, babba, again, hiya and bye bye

Probably dada, but dada and mummy I didn't really count those as they didn't seem to relate to anything for a bit they were just noises. He makes a lot of noises like gacgac for a duck (quack) and uf for a dog (woof) but I suppose the only proper words he says are car, ta (for thank you), down, doggy, blue, shoes, gook (for book).

lol

Jess's first word was dadda. She still doesn't say mumma she can say hello, no, nana, dadda, jessy, num num (dummy) but no mumma :(

Both my first and my third said "dada" first! My second son said "nana"? ? Nana??? WTF? hahaha  Wheres MUM? :wall: Im going to MAKE Lola-Mae say Mum first haha

unfortunatly i remember the first time my daughter said mummy..she was in hospital we had to take her coz she had a rash and high temp so they were thinking meningitus..and as the doctors were checking her she screamed and was crying really bad and she took a deep breath and shouted mummy that haunts me all the time the poor thing, luckily after a week in hospital and loads of testss and antibiotics for meningitus they found it wasnt meningitus it was hand foot and mouth disease. but i hate the fact that thats when she said mummy for first time as ill always remember where we were and what happened everytime she says it.

But that was wen she was 9 - 10months old..now she is three and says why and no and anything else that is negative lol
