I'm looking at getting our LG a sleeping bag as she is now pretty much big enough for the 0-6 month ones, just wondered what tog I should be looking at getting, considering the temp will drop in the next few weeks at night and she will be using it until around December I saw 1 tog, 2 tog and 2.5 tog. She always kicks herself out of her cellular blanket even though we tuck her in tight. This morning she was on top of it.

We are using a 1 tog at the moment which will probably last a while yet. She wears short sleeve pjs if it's hot and long if it's a bit cooler...as it gets cold I'll layer up with a vest underneath and maybe swap pjs for sleep suits so her feet are covered. Xx

If it was me I would buy both a 1 tog and a 2.5 tog. IMO it is definitely too hot for a 2.5 at the moment even with only a vest underneath but you would benefit from a 2.5 from late October onwards when it gets pretty cold.

If you can only afford to buy one for now I would go with a 1 tog as you can always put long sleeved sleepsuits etc on underneath it on cold nights. I would much rather do that than worry about baby overheating in a 2.5 at this time of year. I have never seen a 2 tog though - where did you find those? x

Agree with H16, we have 1 tog & 2.5 tog & use depending on weather.
Always better for a little one to be slightly cool rather than over heating! X

I had to get one as Alex had started pulling his blankets over his head. I only saw a 1.5tog so that's what he's in but will get a 2.5 for winter x

Each baby can be different too. Mine seems most comfy at the moment in a 20C room with a 1.5 tog sleepbag, a sleeveless vest and a sleep suit. When I touch his tummy to test it, he's nice and warm, but not hot.

Thanks everyone will defo look into buying 2 different tog sleeping bags. Our little lady is always quite cold so may go for the vest, sleepsuit 1 tog bag option x

Depends how cool or warm room is!

Sons in a 2.5 tog as his room is about 19-21 - though his has full sleeves they can be detached to a sleeveless one

I wouldn't bother with a 1 tog now- just use a 2.5 and change the under layers

My daughters room currently is around the 19/20/21 degree mark and she is in a 1 tog & a long sleeved bodysuit. She is plenty warm enough in this! Some babies are warmer/cooler though, she is generally quite warm x
