What do you ladies enjoy from Starbucks etc? Looking for non-caffinated suggestions but especially anything naturally decaff without decaff in the name for when I'm trying to be subtle around people who don't know yet! I've seen children with Starbucks cups so I assume there must be a frappuccino alternative!

Decaf tea? Fruit tea? You could tell people caffeine has been giving you headaches so you’re trying to cut it down

I always go with an iced green tea. It's still caffeine but not as bad as coffee. Then I'll just avoid all caffeine for the rest of the day. Which is easy for me as I've an aversion to tea and coffee lol.

To me a starbucks would be a treat, so i would ensure i hadn't had any coffee that day and have that as my caffeine hit for the day. I dont drink things like coke so am allowing myself to have one coffee in the day. But yes there are baby frappuchinos, but i think they are mainly milk, so no caffeine of any kind...

I like the fruit teas, but I second what others have said.... I would just probably treat myself to a coffee or whatever I wanted and just make sure I have no other caffeine, otherwise the fruity cooler type drinks are nice too, depends if you wanted a hot drink or cold drink, you could always just say you’ve already more then enough coffee that day and fancied a change, I doubt anyone would think anything of it x

Yeh the recommendation is that you just limit your caffeine intake and not eliminate it necessarily. The rationale is that it inhibits your nutrient absorption, so really just avoid having it with your meals x

I still drink diet coke and coffee. Not by the bucket load to be fair. But I would just have the coffee Xx

Thank goodness! My sister ordered an iced coffee yesterday and i just had water. I'm so happy I don't have to feel guilty having the odd one.

I go for hot chocolate! And yeah I have caffeinated tea here and there and I've had coffee a couple times, but mostly just (VERY cocoa-heavy, haha) hot chocolate every day. Still has some caffeine but not a lot.

Yeah. I'm even wary with chocolate just because there's caffeine in that too. It's a blinking minefield haha

Chai lattes are good. You can also get chocolate/white chocolate/strawerry frappuccinos that are coffee-free.

My mum hates coffee so her go-to is a strawberry and cream frapouccino. It's basically a milkshake lol

I think its like anything in life, everything in moderation :-) I personally think, and this is my opinion cutting out any type of food because you are pregnant isn't great.

Don't get me wrong I am not eating 'mouldy' cheese and pate everyday, but I think it could be quite heathy to just continue eating all the things you would normally do and not restrict your diet because you think it could be detrimental. I am of the frame of mind that you should eat and drink a different variety of things so your baby gets used to it - I am by no means a doctor, but thats what I personally think.

Yes my doctor said that even the stuff the NHS tells you to avoid doesn't matter here (not UK) as the cheese is imported so its all pasteurised unless you go to a specific fine cheese shop.

I think caffeine in moderation is fine. I don't have much myself as I don't like tea or coffee. I'm rarely in Starbucks but if I was I'd have a hot chocolate or iced drink instead. Considering the amount of sugar in those it's probably a good thing I'm not there often!!

Like IVW says, I've tended to stick quite closely to my usual diet. It's genuinely been what I've wanted most of the time as I've not had any cravings or aversions. I've tried to stick to the NHS guidelines but a lot of what they say to avoid I either don't eat or only have occasionally so it's not been an issue. I also think a variety of foods are important so baby gets used to different things.

Agreed. I've ignored a lot of the over-cautious bits of advice I was given, like "don't eat mayonnaise/undercooked eggs" and "don't have pre-cut fruit/fresh squeezed juice". I don't eat meat/seafood anyway and I hate most cheese so I've hardly changed my diet. I did swap my 12 or so daily cups of tea to decaf but a couple of cups of regular tea/coffee won't hurt.
