What to do for a jan 1st birthday?

Really dont know what to do as cant afford to hire out and do buffets. We only have 2 up 2 down so cant host a party and without sounding ungreatful dont want more presents cause we literally got loads for xmas and have nowhere to put them. Do we just have an immediade family doo or do we celebrate it in the summer or is that unfair?

i had 2 parties as my house is a little 2 bed!! i had a party for the babies on the sat and family on the sunday! I know your prob thinking omg but my mum helped with food for the baby party and all the family 'bought a dish' on DS's sunday party as they wanted us to enjoy it. They bought bolognaise, chilli, curry and i did jacket potatoes, rice and pasta and they got to choose what they wanted. plus i provided a few crisps and nibbles to go along with it.
