as u can see from this post and this post and the very fact im a member of this forum in the first place  that im not very good at taking pills.

but, i refuse to have the implant or injection as heard tooooooooo many nasty things like enormous weight gain etc. i refuse to have the coil as one of my colleagues was horrendously ill (in hospital) with one and leckershell on here had a nightmare with one too. my boyf refuses to use condoms and tbh i dont like them either. im too young to get sterilized and i think i'd like more babies at some point in the future anyway. theres no way my boyf will try withdrawal method  i cant think of any more options! are there any? what are they?

A lady at work has terrible problems, she's had two children who have both grown up and she can't have a sterilisation.

She also had a nightmare with the coil. I understand why you wouldn't want the implant or injection, so you only have two choices really? You can try and make sure you only have sex on your non-fertile days.

Yeah i agree with the patch, thats what im planning to try after bubs is born also. My friend did have the patch though and she did say it often comes off and she had to try and stick it back on.
And im sure when your having lots of fun in the bedroom ( or where ever...lol) you arn't going to be making sure you have the patch stuck to your ass........ worth a try though.

What about the novoring - I am going to start on this. It is a small ring that fits over your cervix and you leave it in for three weeks take it out and have a withdrawal bleed same as the Oral pill and then put in a new one the next week. The dose is lower as it is not systemic and therefore the side effects are less - I think it sounds the business.

i am not sure what to advise hun. i am on the pill that is the same hormone as the implant (dont want implant cus i want more kids pretty soonish!) and it has not affected my weight at all, i am currently losing weight and since being on it i have not noticed any difference like less weight loss or harder to lose, whereas other pills have made me pile on punds. my sis is also on implant and it hasnt affected her either.

you could try try the pill version first (called cerazette) and if the hormone suits you then ask for the implant, if it doesnt suit you then you can always just stop taking it. you take it all month round also and it has same effects as the implant, i only have 1-2 days of light bleeding per month! (which is great!!!)

hope you find something hun

xxxxxx

iv put people off the coil for life lol

iv heard about femidoms but not sure how comfortable or expensive they are... though may get them free from family planning?

tbh i'm in the same boat but we're on condoms at the moment cos i keep forgetting to start my minipill!!!

well iv remembered it today! tbh im ok with it most days, if its a normal day iv got a bit of a routine since melissa was born- i come downstairs, put the kettle on, take my vitamins and my Pill. but its when something unusual happens- like i stay out overnite, or im up extra early to take my boyf to the airport (last friday!) or whatever. thats when i forget one. maybe if i mention on here that im doing something, y'all need to remind me to take my pill!

I started having problems with the hormones in the pill and have researched most contraception looking for something suitable, we decided on the diaphragm in the end and that didnt work too well so wouldn't recommend it!! :rotfl:
I was interested in trying the novoring but my doctor had never heard of it so it wasn't an option, if it is available after Ive had baby think might try that it does sound pretty good!
I had problems remembering my pill until I got into a routine and then like you if was change to routine would forget it so I set a daily reminder on my phone for just after I would get up every morning, every day I would turn it off and straight away reset for next day, it really helped!

doctor put me on cerazette about half a year ago! oh my.. it was like i had permanant PMS. My friend who was also taking it said it did the same to her and supposedly it contains male hormones..

If i were bad at remembering pills id have the needle in the bum thing. aparently you only have to have it once every 3 months. :)

What about Natural Family Planning?

Using temperature and CM you can find out exactly when you are fertile and avoid those times. It worked for us for 5 years, and we might have taken a minor risk in the summer hence the pregnancy... :rotfl:

But it is a brilliant method. I can't take the pill (family history of breast cancer) and like you I'm either allergic or phobic of all the other methods. Oh and my cervix is too small for a diaphragm :rotfl:

my grandma on my mum's side died of breast cancer, yet i took the pill for 10 years- a really strong one for about 8 years called dianette. im worried now :(
how do u do this temperature and cm thing?

eek! seventy pounds! thats too expensive my boyf would prob say he'd rather not bother LOL

my friend swore by persona after she had her son.... she has a lovely little girl now . :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: I have the same problem with the pill we're using condoms atm.. they are horrible

You can normally get them on ebay a lot cheaper and then you just have to pay for the sticks.

Have you tried setting an alarm to go off on your phone to remind you to take the pill? I know some people who do that. I was on Diane for 3 years and stopped taking it after reading bad things about it. If you were to go back to taking the BCP I would probably recommend not going back on that one! But you probably already know that lol. Good luck with whatever you decide. It's so unfair that birth control is mostly left up to women- I can't wait till the day the male BCP is invented

the fone alarm wouldnt work. i always leave my fone somewhere and often dont find my texts until hours after they sent! ill carry on with the pill, its only really a change to my routine that makes me forget. and ill soon stop BFing totally so can go on the proper pill with a bigger window :)
