I'm sorry about your miscarriage hun I had cramping early on and they told me i was probably losing the baby and like your doctor implied it was my fault for testing early.
I was 3 days late and craping myself! I have the most regular periods ever and theres no way i'd have waited 7 days to test so i'd ignore him on that front!
They so say a high percentage of pregnancies end very early on and mosly women think they are late or having a heavier period.
I hope your TTC is successful soon
