Ok I don't know for sure we use what we have n its diferent everytime, its my favourite dish and everyone I cook it for loves it, its a gambian national dish u can use chicken or beef its optinal. This is to about
10ppl cuz that's how we cook our food
Fry the lamb just so its brown all around n put aside
Chop 4 onions (large) as small as possible as its ment to melt in the sauce
Fry in big pot in oil but not so high heat, stir n leave for about 10th min u can also add garlic if u want I do.
Add chilis or chili powder (we do it very spicy)
Add chunks of optinal vegs, we normallly have sweet potatoes, carrots, corguettes but anything goes, even potatoe n frozen vegs.
Chuck In the lamb
Add about 8-10 tomatoes chopped up small
Maggie cubes, can get them in Tesco we add about 7 crushed up
1 jar atleast! PENutbutter smooth (we have a big jar)
1 jar tomatoe puree
Boiled water from kettle little at the time stir stir stir, salt peppar
Splash of ketshup
We add okra but its not a must
Juice from half lemon
Lid on low heat
Spoon out the oil that comes to the top
