i know that may sound stupid but i've bought sleepsuits, in their first 3 months did your lo's actually wear outfits? i.e. jeans and tops and jackets? haven't got a clue what i should be buying? xxxx

Charley wore mostly sleepsuits. I think I got him dressed properly only a handful of times in the 1st few months!

I think i started Drake on proper outifts when he was 3 weeks old. I think it helped form part of his routines, he knew sleepsuits were for bedtime and up for the day into normal clothes.

Tegan wore clothes from a few days old & sleepsuitsits for bed its personal preference Hun xx

Majority of babies i've seen fresh out of hospital they have sleepsuits on, you can get some really cute fancy ones tho, with matching hats, i'd say they're just as nice as an outfit.

Generally they're wrapped up in blankets 24/7 when first out of hosp (thats what they told me to do anyway) I'm not sure if its maybe 1/2 weeks they tell you to do that for, cant mind, but the wee outfits are soo cute when they eventually wear them

:)

Babygro's all the way!!!! My boys definitely lived in them for the first 3 months if not longer:blush:

Flynn is in babygro's mostly as he falls asleep everywhere atm, i dont think theres going to be much point putting him in anything else untill he has more awake time . . . though this could be sooner than i thought! we do have quite a few outfits ready and waiting though!

I spent a small fortune on Ted Baker baby clothes (Baby Baker) and I can honestly say that it was the stupidest thing I ever did

Whilst baby designer clothes are incredibly cute, they're also a pain in the arse to get on and off your LO! Bloody buttons on back and bottoms that don't have poppers so you have to remove completely for a nappy change, then put back on again! And do not get me started on ironing those itsy bitsy fussy pieces of material!!!!

I can honestly say that my LO won't get around to wearing all of her 0-3 gear cos I simply cannot deal with the hassle of getting them on and off her. Or bloody ironing them!

Babygros all the way! They wash well, need bare minimum ironing if at all, and babies look so snuggly in them.

TBH most of the time in the house, my LO is either in the short sleeved bodysuits or in the nuddy with only a nappy on as she seems to enjoy the freedom of flinging her limbs about.

But having said all of the above...I still get suckered into buying the cute little pain in the arse clobber for her  x

With my first I had loads of outfits .. mistake too much hassle . We are all about the sleepsuits this time around .

amelia was dressed in proper clothes from day one and sleepsuits at night like ZMD its personal preference x

Herbie had sleep suits to come home in then outfits in the day, but I like really baby clothes soft and snug so they werent much different to putting a sleep suit on him xxxx

Because it's quite warm, Jake is normally dressed in short sleeved bodysuits during the day, but if it's cold I put him in a sleepsuit in the day. Sometimes I'll pop him in jeans and t shirt or dungarees but I don't think he's as comfortable as he is when he's in his onesies!
Its a lot easier to change him in his onesies than when he's in an outfit too. x

we mixed and matched outfits and all in ones, cosy joggers and dungarees. Had lots of hand me downs and pressies and I liked buying a few things too! I quite liked outfits and baby grows for bed. It is preference xx

Brooke was in babygro's from day 1 (the MW told me to put her in babygro's) and wrapped up in a blanket for the first week-10 days. Now she's getting a bit bigger I'll put her in little leggins and a cute top (& I still keep her wrapped up a lot of the time as it is getting cold). But if we're at home we're often put her in a babygro so she can have a kick about! Sleepsuits all the way at bedtime - they are so cute :-) xx

I've just started putting Poppy in little t-shirts and leggings, and she looks adorable in a little skirt & tights but for the first 2 - 3 weeks it was mainly babygros. The midwife told me to keep her in a babygro until her umbilical stump fell off as elasticated waistbands on baby clothes can irritate it xx

I'd forgotton about this, knew there was a reason for being told to put babygros on.

:)

my lil man was in sleepsuits most of time. but wore proper clothes aswell some times. mostly because other people brought them and we didnt want it to go to waste. xx

We had lots of outfits that he got as presents but he has really just wore sleepsuits and his little knitted cardigans up until now! I love them in sleepsuits :) xxx

wow ladies, thanks for your replies. my friend was saying that there is plenty of time for clothes so just go for sleepsuits but then the point about it being 'bed time' when a onesie is on is a good point too.

i really dont want to spend uneccessary money on things so maybe i'll stick to sleepsuits/vests and im sure most people will buy us outfits and just use them?

great replies, appreciated :) thank you xx

When I had my first all I bought was 1 pack of sleep suits & 1 pack of vests & we got enough clothes as presents that they lasted untill she was 6mnths old.

You find the majority of ppl will give u clothes as gifts, rather than teddies ect.

:)
