What CD should I start using opk's?

I'm wondering whether I might have missed my LH surge this month due to possibly ovulating early. My cycles are fairly regular and are usually 24 or 25 days lasting no more than 4 days. Last month I started testing CD8 but didn't get one strip with a line as dark or darker than the control at all I'm therefore wondering if I should start to test on CD6? Has anyone else started testing that early.....and did you get positive result this early?

With a 24/25 day cycle you most likely ovulate between day 10 and 13 so I wouldn't say 8 was too early. To rule it out I'd start cd6 next cycle. Don't worry if you don't get that second line, I've stressed so much about opks in the past for no reason. I didn't get a positive at all but had a blood test which showed I did ovulate. Either the tests didn't pick up or I got my surge overnight when I wasn't obviously testing!

If you get ewcm that's a good indicator to go by. If you can I would DTD every second day from cd 6 to 14 and you'll definitely be covered! Xx

Thanks MrsS15. It's possible my surge came overnight too as had lines but they were definitely not as dark. I think we'll try DTD every other day again and hope for the best next time around. X

No problem lots of luck! We DTD every second day this cycle (actually weren't trying to I just realised after it fell that way) but we stopped the day before I think I ovulated because of work etc so need to hope the day before was good enough, if not, ivf here I come xx

Good luck, hope you get your BFP. I think as the sperm hangs around for a few days as long as you DtD the day before you ovulate that's fine. I think the day of ovulation....you are less likely to conceive so fingers crossed x

Yeah the day before seems to be the most recommended time so hopefully good for me. I've kinda accepted ivf is the road for us now so I won't be too disappointed! Xx

Sorry hun just seen this. Don't know if I'll bother testing! I'm going to my friends for the weekend on Friday and she might badger me to test on Sunday or Monday before I go home, I'll be 10/11 dpo. If I have no symptoms though I won't bother! Xx
