I'm going on our hospital tour on Wednesday so will be asking if it's necessary to take nappies, cotton wool, vaseline, sudocrem etc but just wondering if any of you ladies have packed these in your hospital bags already or know from experience if I will need to take them in?

x

i'm taking nappies, cotton wool, and sudocrem but thats about it for baby! i'm taking some pampers sensitive wipes too but there for me! though can be used on baby obviously if need to!

remember to pack a pillow! with a recognisable case!

They supplied me with the stuff for her bum most of the time even though i had my own vaseline. I don't even think i used my own cottle wool as there was a room you went to where they was a sink with the cotton wool there... this was just my hospital though not sure about yours? To be honest i never had alot with me as i didn't think i would have to stay in over night. Would be best you just asking or taking a few bits just incase but most likely they will have most things. xxx

i have packed nappies i was told to pack at least 10 per day also packed cotton wool and wipes and sudocream. From what was said at the antenatal class the hospital do not supply anything

I thought I was being a bit of a diva taking my own pillow!! Hehe glad I'm not the only one, just I love my pillow!

I'm just taking nappies, cotton wool, and sudocrem. X

I'm taking basically a changing bag with nappies, cotton wool, cream, wipes etc etc
Then I've got my bag with my toiletries etc in x

I've got a pack of nappies, cotton wool pads, little sudocrem from the bounty pack.

I'll be taking my own pillow too lol x

i never even thought about pillows!!! oh my god im stressing now...i do have rather a long time to get organised though. lol xxx

Ask at your hospital to see what they supply , Mine supply nothing so I have to bring a lot and as I was there a week last time I liked having a few of my own bits with me . A pillow , favourite shower gels , shampoo , moisturiser , facial wipes . For baby I had a seperate toiletries bag too

we were told at out tour that if we wanted a pillow on our bed after delivery bring our own!

going to get the last few toiletries for me today, plus maybe some travel size make-up so there's no chance i can lose any of my nice stuff!

OMG what kind of hospitals do you have in England?? My hospital gave me enough pillows to start a shop! They also gave me "real" nappies to try and used for 2-3 days while in hospital. They even took them away and washed them! I did not need any toiletries at all for baby - just myself! I'm going to a different hospital this time so wont expect the nappies (think it was a special scheme they had on at the time to promote re-usable nappies). They did say that I did not need pillows or anything. If staying one night you stay in your own delivery room with en-suite bathroom, no moving away after giving birth. If you plan on staying more than 1 night (which I am, prefer 2) they move you to maternity wing where you have your own private en suite room!! If only they had epidural sevice..... hey, cant have it all ways!!

I'm going to your hospital! x

Oh and they also provide a fan for each and every room. For all you ladies out there, this is a must to take with you if your hospital dont provide. When I did my hospital tour the rooms were super hot.....even 2 of the ladies on the tour got faint/ill cos it was so hot in the labour and materity wing. Hey and us in Scotland dont have the heat you guys down south do so I can imagine that being a nightmare! Ha ha just got a mental picture there of labouring woman getting wheeled into delivery suite with OH running 10 paces behind, arms full of fans, pillows and 3 suitcases....

Tracey my hospital was the same, i didnt need 1 single thing, the hospital provided everythin i could possibly need for me and baby and i think this hospital is the same. I'll take nappies incase they dont though. x

My hospital did provide everything i needed and everything Brooke needed... whether that was because i just turned up with my notes and thats it.. no bags!! but i know that they have the stuff there to provide me with if i need it... (my bag is all packed now, woohoo! i havent done little mans yet as will do that after my growth scan on thursday to see what the plan is) xx
