i love gwion! and ffion! and another one came into my head that i love, but i cant remember it now!!

Not heard of that one I'm afraid, dont think its a welsh one, but maybe Ive just never heard of it!x

Yep, Niall (pronounced Nile) is Irish/Gaelic :)

If Naill was a welsh name it wouldnt be pronounced nile, it would be nee-a- and then that welsh sound that only welsh people can make!

i'm blaming it in sleep deprivation!! 4 hours broken sleep a night does not suit me at all!!

We're trying to think of welsh names which people can actually pronounce as there's nothing worse than spending your life teaching people how to say your name.

Was just wondering if any of you non-welshies have ever heard of the name "Owain" and if you think you could pronounce it! Thanks :)

Madog...this is my brothers name, we call him Max for short. I can't remember the meaning but i think it says something about being the welshmans son.

You pronounce it like this.. Mad-oug.

I love Ariana Seren for a girl - welsh for gold star i think its so cute!

I like Rhys, and Nia is lovely! but reading the "40.001 baby names" book the other day in Waterstones, I happened upon....

.... RUSK! SERIOUSLY! RUSK!?!?!?! Sorry if anyone has a child named rusk :oooo: but ...

Rusk!?
I know it's not Welsh..but it is seriously odd...

I'm welsh, so as you can imagine I'm a fan of welsh names

Gold star in welsh is Seren Aur - pronounced like 'eyer' ish lol =]

horray! Another welshie!! Is that a weimeraner in your pic??

P.S. we've decided on Mali for a girl and Morgan for boy (although its still negotiable) and we have to rethink our middle names cos Mali Lily isnt going to work!
