Ok bit of an odd one this but it came up in one of those daft convos I was having with Hubby last night!

I excerise every day, a lot of the time, I am streching, pulling and falling off, My hubby said what if your in early stages of pregnancy (if not now then in the future) and your fell a height, but you didnt know you were pregnant what would happen,

Its got me worried now as I took one hellah fall yesterday (prob about 4 ft!!)
but I know Ill be back doing it again today, but think Im gonna have to take it easy!

whats others thoughts on heavy excerise when TTC and possiably being preggers but not knowing about it if that makes any sense at all!?

I am currently reading 'The Best Friend's Guide to Pregnancy'. The author has had four kids, and was a really heavy exerciser when not pg. For two of her pregnancies she carried on as usual with her exercise routines in the first tri, and in both of these pregnancies she bled throughout. She didn't at all with her other two (all four kids were OK though)

The medical advice is to not exercise at an intensity harder than that which you were doing before you were pg, so in theory, if you carry on the same, all should be well.

However, they recommend 'pelvic rest' during tri 1 for women who have suffered recurrent miscarriages, including no exercise (not even sex!), so I can't help but think taking it easy is the best option, whether you've a history of m/c or not. I took it easy during my 2ww when we were TTC, just is case, but moderate exercise shouldn't cause any problems, especially if you're normally a real gym bunny!

I'm just curious to know what exercise you're doing that makes you fall 4ft?!! Sounds painful.

She jumps very high in star jumps  No seriously, do you trampoline or something? Any thing that can cause a fall I wouldn't recommended. Aerobics to a fashion Id say was ok.

thats one of my probs, the excerise I do means I work harder each time, but after a while it get easier!!
I think I may slow it down for next few weeks, or at least till AF shows up just to be on the safe side,
thanks for replying

im struggling with the exercise when preg debate too!!! they say ur hb shouldnt get higher than 140 beats but ive worn a monitor whilst exercsing and u bearly break into a sweat at that rate! so i dunno, i currently do gym classes 3 or 4 times a week and dont know if its safe to carry oon when im preg or not. and if sit ups etc are safe or not!?

they do pole dancing at my gym and ive always wanted to give it a go!

Because if and when i went upside down, the flab would leave me unable to see! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Does eating cake count as exercise?

I think as I, apparently, fall over and injure myself just walking around I'd better avoid the poledancing! (although it does look wicked fun - perhaps wait for the shoulder to heal first though!)

My exercise mainly comes from walking our dogs so it's nothing too vigorous!

it took me months to get upside down!! By which time any flab had vanished!

On the note of health, when I went for my op last week they took my BP etc before me G&A, my HB was slow and my BP down, she said do you keep fit, I said kinda why, she replied this is showing your really fit and healthy!! So im chuffed with that, so would love to be able to keep up with something!

and babyblonde yes cake counts, cakes good!!!

It is something which is worrying me. Especially skiing. I am due to go skiing over New year - 28th Dec -5th Jan. I will only be doing half days I suspect as we are swapping with my parents in looking after Ellie. Last time I was told not to ski when I was pregnant. But I dont really understand why? I was also told to stop playing hockey. I can understand this as I guess it is the risk of being hit in the stomach by a stick, the ball or another player at a guess. However when my mum had us, she wasn't told to stop playing and play while PG with both me and my sister.

Skiing worries me 2! We normally go every year in a group, and they r looking at booking soon for a week at the end of Jan (in Italy). Me & hubby are in a dilemma  we don't know what to do for the best?
We want a baby more than skiing, but no-one knows how long we could take to get bfp.
I'd wouldn't want to chance anything happening cause I went skiing if i was preg, but if we're not blessed with a bfp then skiing would take our mind off it all & be fun.
Oh what to do?!?

On the subject of falling while unknowingly pregnant...a little story.

while my mum was pregnant with me, she went on a cat and mouse (she didnt know she was pregnant) and it came off its tracks and she fell out!!!

maybe thats why Im so cray...
