Hiya, having a few weaning stresses. Just put Harry on 3 meals a day ready for the childminder on Monday. Just wondering how much milk your Los have the ones who are havin 3 meals a day? This is Harrys routine from today

6:00am- Bf
9:00 - Porridge
11:00- 6oz bottle
1:00 - half a jar of veg and a small fruit pudding
3:00- 6 oz bottle
5:00- veg puree and a small fruit pudding
7:30- last bottle 7oz

Is this too much food and milk? I'm so worried about over feeding. Should i only offer 5oz? I am a useless weaner!! I have no idea why people look forward to doing this...bottles are sooo much easier xxx

I'm crap at weaning but I'd say if lo eats it then they must be hungry! Personally I wouldn't worry about over feeding :) (my lo is an under - eater though!)

My LO is a major milk monster so we still have issues now over 8 months!! She has 2/3 meals depending what mood she's in but will still have up to 40 oz milk!! Don't know what to do lol :( x

C is a milk monster too and will have 3 meals plus 3/4 BF'ds a day.... Sometimes one at night.

IMO you can't overfeed at this age.

Wss. I think people are far tooworried about over feeding these days. I think it is problem in older children but not babies and toddlers xx

I agree. If he is eating it then he obv wants/needs it. I wouldnt worry about overfeeding. He will let you know if he doesnt want it. What he is having sounds fine to.me x

Thats what Jack used to have once he was on 3 meals a day. Apart from he only ever managed 3-4oz of milk but we've just found out he's partially tongue tied (he's almost 2 now) which is why he had such a low milk intake. If your LO drinks the milk you offer then i personally would keep giving it until he naturally drops it himself. I think at 9 months Jack swapped his mid morning bottle for a snack and at 12 months just had a night time feed with 3 meals and 2 snacks. He still has bedtime milk now in his beaker and will do so until he's at least 3 and afterwards if he still wants it. I'm planning on weaning Harry in exactly the same way x

S has 3 meals and 3/4 bottles of around 6oz's. She loves her food.

I would just go with it, I wouldn't worry about overfeeding at all :D

Don't worry Kate, honestly I spent sooo much time worrying about what Harry was eating and he just took what he wanted! Luckily he still loves his milk and has 16oz a day x

Def don't worry- Harry is 13 months and has 3 meals a day, plus snacks, plus around 20oz milk a day, ad he's bang on the right centile!!

I have a milk monster for a child!!

It sounds like he's doing really well! I wouldn't worry.. Ethan is nearly 9 months and absolutely loves food (has 3 meals a day), but I struggle on a daily basis to get him to take milk.. I offer him 3 bottles, but usually he refuses his late morning bottle, so only has two bottles. Even then, he doesn't take all the milk! Today, he had 4oz this morning and 5oz before bed - that's it. But I managed to sneak 3oz into his breakfast and he's had a fromage frais and cheese.
I think he'd quite happily just not have any formula if I let him! Drives me crazy! lol

xx

If he wants it then go for it! Our routine is pretty much exactly the same, 7oz bottle/porridge with 3oz milk/6oz bottle/savoury meal then fruit/6oz bottle/savoury meal then fruit and then 6 to 8oz before bed. Think boys love their food  xx
