Waiting To Ovulate ~July/Aug~

Yeah just keep testing IVW, you may just be having a weird cycle, I think that can happen from time to time, I’ve read that you can still ovulate without a positive opk too, occasionally you don’t get as strong a surge as usual so don’t really get a clear positive but can still ovulate, maybe mention you’ve had some bleeding though when you go for your smear

I’ve got my smear and then straight after, my dh and me will be talking to my doctor about my concerns for when and if I fall pregnant and also ask about this weird cycle and just get a bit of advice and guidance really.

We’ve booked to go away the weekend for the night with the kids so if I ovulate on cd18 like I did last month we will be away on ovulation day with no chance! If we dtd the day before and the day after should that cover it? Lol

100% will cover it, more so the day after I would say, but you are definately in with a chance

You will have a good chance dizzydinky, getting some swimmers in there before the egg is released is your best chance - the egg doesn’t last long and I’ve read that the fresher the egg is when it’s fertilised the more chance it’s got of successful implantation so it’s actually best to do the deed the day before ovulation anyway so that the sperm are already there ready and waiting!

Interesting enough they say that having sex two days before O is the best timing because the sperm still needs to go through a process of maturation before they can even fertilize the egg ......

Thanks for that KatD, that’s great info, it’s similar to what I have read, the two times I’ve got a bfp one of them was from sex either 3 or 4 days before ovulation, that was the only time we did it in that whole month!

Got my blazing positive opk today, did the deed yesterday afternoon and doubt we will be doing it again so hopefully there’s some good swimmers in there waiting for the egg to drop

Thanks KatD - very good to know. I just thought any day either side is good, so really it’s more so a few days before.

Negative opks for me still, so I think I can forget this cycle.

Had a blood test today, so will be interesting to see if that shows If i am ovulating or not - I just thought I would have the test as I was already there, but will need to go back on the next witches visit then again on day 21.

Feel a bit more positive after our appointment and my oh now knows we really need to up our game with

Still no indication of O, been testing only once a day since Yesterday because of work (and I think the work stress is throwing me off) - still negative. Temps aren't really indicating much and I've had a wiff of ewcm this morning but nothing since. Confusing. Just want this part to be over now so that I can move over to the TWW - hate wishing time away like this hehehe

Don’t count yourself out yet. My last cycle I had nothing but negative opks yet got a bfp anyway. Just keep trying to bd on a regular basis. Tests aren’t foolproof - is possible to miss your surge!

You are totally right. Just noticed the tiniest bit of ewcm also, i couldnt have been more excited

I will have to make sure the room is cool enough for OH and that the fan is directly on him or his performance is hindered

So I’m on CD 21 today and this was my opk on CD 19, this was as dark as I could get it and then on CD 20 it was really faint again. I haven’t been able to test as often as I’d have liked to with being in work all the time, so that’s messed things up a bit really.

I’ve had egg white cm for 3 days but now it’s drying up so I’m logging my ovulation date to be either yesterday or today (leaning more towards yesterday though going by my opk’s). CD 18 I had pink/brown spotting all day and then nothing since, I’m thinking that was ovulation spotting.


We’ve managed to BD for 3 days in a row, however it’s only been 3 weeks since my husband’s VR so I’m not very hopeful this month.

Hopefully next month I’ll get on track better with my cycle

Oh yay! Had a +OPK tonight and worked in another round of bd'ng. It'll probably be another 48hrs before O so will try to do some bd'ng. Yay! Who knows how this cycle might end

Hubby has already dashed any chances of dtd tonight his ear infection is back, which means he is good for nothing

Gutted as ewcm looks like its starting to show, so I really want to get it done tonight

I think I’m gonna count myself as 1DPO tomorrow, had lots of EWCM Sunday and yesterday, got a blazing positive OPK yesterday, EWCM has dissapeared this afternoon and I’ve got the tingly boobed feeling I usually around ovulation, only managed to BD once on Sunday afternoon, not feeling too hopefull, although I did have EWCM when we done it so hopefully that’s helped the sperm last until the egg arrives but I don’t think I’ll be too gutted when AF shows up as we haven’t actually really tried this month (OHs fault)

As they say, it only takes the once and your in with a very good chance by the sounds of it.

Oh knows I’m disappointed so has promised we can do it tomoz, Thursday and Friday hopefully the ewcm does become more apparent.

Are you ladies gonna test early? Not sure how I feel about it, I don’t want to pick up a chemical, I actually wish I didn’t know about the last one!
