The 5.5 week scan showed the gestational sack in the right place. There was quite a large bleed behind it (hematoma??), but I was told not to worry unduly about this. My husband and I were crying in the lift as we left the hospital. From waiting to face what I thought would be a miscarriage or ectopic pregnancy, I am now 6.5 weeks pregnant with some nausea and breast pain. I know it is still v early days, but I very hopeful that all will be ok.

We still don't know why my hcg levels didn't rise properly for a week. I'm hoping that that now no longer matters.

I hope this gives others on this site some hope if faced with a similar situation. I would like to thank you all for your support. It really hasn't been an easy ride, and I have appreciated each and every comment.

I have my 7.5 week scan next Thursday, 9 Feb, so I'll let you know how it goes.
