vaccinations during 2nd tri

hi i wonder if any of you have asked your dr this....

I'm going to singapore and thailand in december when i'll be 20-22 weeks (yes just the type of place not advised!! But is work related and previously booked)

Now as i'm away from my GP and won't be back home until after the holiday, Im reading up on vaccinations and it seems the general advice is, obviously , ASK YOUR DOCTOR. I called the sugery explaining i couldnt get into the surgery and asked for advice, and they advised me to ring NHS direct helpline . NHS helpline said , generally vaccinations not recommended but the risk of malaria is there so ASK MY DOCTOR!!

has anyone actually asked their doctor this as i am having trouble getting a definite answer

i work in operating theatres so have to be vaccinated up all the time i needed hep B while preggers & they wouldn't do it so ????

Can you call the surgery & ask to speak to the doctor? Or ask them to call you? Who would administer the vaccinations - maybe they could help?

There is a travel vaccine number you can ring somewhere(sorry I dont have the details) , if the parts you are going to are not malarial you shouldnt need vaccinated.

go to your doctors.. dont ring them.. i know you can have a few different types.. quineen u can when ur past 16 weeks. but depends what strain of malaria is present in thailand.

you cant take maleria pills while pregnancyt, in fact i wasnt even alllowed to ttc after taken them ! plus , they ruined my honeymoon and made me soooo sick that im afriad i will never ever ever take them again !

thats a good point, i wouldnt be able to get to my drs even if they said i could vaccine LOL..but if my gp said i should i guess i could get written proof and then go to a drop in centre somewhere...
