hey V,

what is suposed to happen is, if you pick them up and slip the boob or bottle in, they will either just drink it and stay asleep or wake up for a second when you slip it in but go back to sleep after a few chugs and still drink the bottle. This works for alot of babies however, once you put the bottle in orans mouth he would wake up and stay awake while he drunk the whole bottle then take about half hour to selttle back off properly. The would then still wake at 5am for that feed anyway so weather he had a 11pm dream feed or not he still wanted one later on. We tried afew times and always the same so we never bothered! Its a case of suck it and see with this one, works for some not for others,.

Good luck huni

Maia has a dream feed. She wakes up a little bit but always goes back to sleep straight away.

Thanks girls - we'll use your advice and keep trying!

D would never do it..He wants to be awake and ejoy every mouthful ..good luck

We followed a baby advice book, and it said to go in, turn on light, give half the feed, change nappy, then turn off light and give the second half of feed...it worked for us (although we used a dimmer so the light wasnt too bright and startle her  )...gradually we would just feed her in the dark, she always woke slightly, drank, burped and went straight back to sleep  So really she was never asleep when we fed her, usually just very sleepy....

We dropped the 11pm night feed when we started weaning at around 5 months and she has slept through from 7.30pm to 7am ever since
