Thats a brilliant idea. I'd love to do it but am useless at that kind of thing. Great business idea if you were to offer your services!!!

You could just use your favourites and give the more boring stuff away!!!

A good place to buy wadding from and/or the backing fabric is http://www.fabricland.co.uk/ they are cheap and very friendly. They do have stores in the South of England but you can also buy over the phone. Alternatively you can pick up the wadding quite cheaply on ebay.

I can't beleive you would even have thought for a second that it is a selfish idea! I've no doubt there will be clothes that won't be suitable. As a lot of my favourites are quite light weight then I'm not sure that the denims will really be suitable to mix into a patchwork so I do anticipate giving away some things like that. Also I won't be saving a lot of the t shirts that I have been given with slogans on cos I don't really like them

It's such a lovely idea and im so glad sherlock posted about it the other day cos I would never have thought of it in a zillion years but have just been given my first sewing machine so I'm definitely going to have a go.
