my MIL asked OH if we'd decided on a name for baby yet. we've had zachary in mind for a while, and we started refering to him as zach when we found out it was a boy, so it's sort of stuck. he told her this & the next day she bought him a baby name book. how rude is that? why not just say you don't like it rather than drop such a blatant hint?!

when she pushes him out of her vagina, she can call him whatever she damn pleases!

Oh ignore her hun!
I dont think MIL likes Lola-Mae but I dont give two sh*ts haha
That is rude though! You should return the favour by telling her how shes just wasted her money and how silly to buy that book when you have picked a name already!

I agree with Lea

My MIL is too polite to say she doesn't like the names we've chosen although we're naming it after my OH if it's a boy so she can't moan since she chose the name in the first place!

My mum hates everything we mention. I think a lot of mothers are like this though, don't know what their problem is. My mates mum refused to use her sons name for a while cos she didn't like it (he's called Evan)

Wierdos!

Oh thats nothing, my MIL actually ran off a list of names that were and were not acceptable.

Urgh, there is nothing worse than people asking what names you are thinking of and you tell them and they say 'oooo, I dont like that' - why bloody ask then?! I love the girls name we have picked (Daisy) and it upsets me when people pull a face. I have always pretended to like other peoples baby's names even if they are vile to protect their feelings - shame not everyone is as sensitive! (I genuinely love the name Zachary though!) xx
