TTC second baby

Hi I just wanted to introduce myself I came across this forum as we are trying for our second baby, My daughter is 4 years old and we only decided recently to have another. We have been trying for 2 months so not long but I am finding myself consumed with thoughts of getting pregnant I am sure you can relate Anyway I am hoping our 3rd month will be the lucky one. I think I am finding most confusing is when to BD, I bought ovulation sticks this month so lets see. Any words of wisdom most welcome.
Also to add I was diagnosed with hypertrophic cervicitis basically recurrent infections so I have been put on very strong anti biotics , anyone with this issue managed to get pregnant?

Hi. We are also ttc our second but I am on cycle 4 - started trying end of June. It does consume you doesn't it? I too have tried ovulation sticks for the first month and got a clear positive cd21 so I'm in the tww at the moment. Hopefully we are both pregnant soon!

hi thanks for your reply, I hope you will get your BFP soon. its very hard to concentrate on anything at the moment. When I got pregnant with my daughter I used preseed so I just ordered one again. I am 39 years old so I really want to get pregnant before 40! It's also good to come and write to this forum as I could never ever discuss this with anyone in real life.

Hi and welcome! TTC'ng #1 and using OPKs with BBT to help pin point O. Had terrible timing last month so I didn't catch the egg. Hoping it will go better this cycle.

I won't be of much help with TTC and antibiotics but I would assume that taking a really good probiotic can't hurt at all.

FX for you hope your TTC journey is really short

I know how you feel!!! It's just weird talking to people in real life, my friends all have kids and aren't going to have any more...don't want to talk to my mum else she will worry and my MIL...well that would just be weird talking to her about it. So this forum is a life saver!

I find myself constantly checking my charts...this forum...googling like a mad person and getting nothing done during the day because of my insistent obsessing lol...think I've gone bonkers!

thanks , it's funny isn't it when you are trying not to get pregnant as you think it's so easy, it's proving very different now...
when someone tells me they only did it once and got pregnant I am like woooow , that would never happen to me, how lucky you must be to get pregnant with only one time???

Yes I used pressed last time too. Was using conceive plus for the past few months but didn't like it as much so this is my fist cycle using pressed again. I'm taking folic acid and hubby zinc so hoping it'll happen soon.
I know what you mean not telling anyone.no one knows we are ttc no 2 but I think my mum may have an idea we will start soon if we haven't already as I always said I'd prefer a small age gap. It's a very personal thing though and difficult to talk about. This forum is fab.

I also started with pre-seed this month, it's horribly expensive and every time I use that sexy applicator hubby calculates the cost...like really...we also haven't told anyone we are trying. It's worse enough getting through a cycle with my sanity still somewhat in place without every second person asking me ...and? Pregnant yet?

yes oh my sanity, what drives me crazy is all the waiting. My AF is starting today , so I have to wait another whole cycle , calculating dates etc.. I think we over did it last month, I knew exactly when I ovulated to we did it every day up to the ovulation day but still no luck, this month I am going to try every other day but not sure when to start trying after AF stops. Do you have any plan in mind?

You could start temping? They say the average (I call it the 'medically ideal') cycle is 28 days, estimating that your O day is on CD14 but alas, we are all uniquely made so very few women fall into that bracket. There are the following options;

* Buy a whooooole lot of internet OPK cheapies and test until you stumble on your LH surge
Mine...
* BBT charting/temping starting from CD1. Charting is handy for establishing an ovulation pattern but unless you have been charting a while, have a regular cycle and a clear O pattern (like you know you O on CD14 every month kinda pattern) it doesn't help to predict when O will happen until after the fact
* You can also record your CM (the pattern usually goes a little something like this...dry/sticky/creamy/watery/ewcm)
* You can stick your CLEAN and nicely trimmed middle finger up there and feel around for your cervix...a good sign of O is a high, soft and open one
* You can every second day for your entire cycle (hat off to DH)
* You can also record any O pain, sore boobs...me, I get nausea when Progesterone starts to kick in, like motion sickness...it sucks oh and I get heavy agro a few days before.

I can't think of anything else....mmmmmmm

thank you for the welcome replies. I have been suffering with UTI for months now and I actually don't believe I can get pregnant while I was this, it's been on and off, it's nearly time to TTC for us this month and I am so disheartened with my infections. I am seeing an expert soon but still it's really annoying.

OMG I KID YOU NOT- we were using FertileCheck Fertility gel and that sexy applicator appears and we ACTUALLY mid-sex were like

"It's good but it's expensive right?"
"Yeah was it £15?"
"Nah more like £12"
"Wait, maybe we should discuss this later"
Then laughed for like 10 mins...

My sister in law messaged me asking when we are going to start thinking about having a baby as she has a 2 year old and wants them to be able to play

Hahahah jiss I laughed now! Everyone in our group of friends have kids so they ask all the time when the baby will come, my husband isn't too great under pressure so he acts like 'oh nooo not yet', I get so annoyed with that sometimes lol.

Hi all i'm TTC no.2 but it's been real hard this time around. I know what you say about becoming obsessed, to the point where my OH urged us to take a break because it was stressing me out and all the fun had gone, it just seemed like a chore. We have been trying for almost 2 years off and on, and even that I find hard to admit. I only have one ovary so I know the chances of conceiving are going to be twice as hard but I live in hope that it will happen one day. I literally have gone from temping, using fertility friend, paid subscription for ovusense (which cost a fortune) and probably spent hundreds on Pg tests, to now not even knowing where I am in my cycle. Strangely though this month I've felt strange and this caused me to do a test last weekend and again today..BFN! I haven't told anyone we're TTC either so coming on here makes things a lot easier.

fastnet, you have come to the right place indeed! Can you tell from cm and maybe other signs like cervical position etc when you are ovulating?

I guess that's his way of coping with the annoying whensthebabycoming questions haha I think im similar, kinda laugh it off and pretend kids are too sticky hahaha xx
