Antibiotics and TTC

Hi all,

I have just been prescribed amoxicillin (500mg) and metronidazole (400mg) for a tooth infection (had wisdom teeth out on Friday )

So...I'm due to ovulate on Wednesday so I should be BDing from now but am now worried about the effects of the antibiotics. I told the dentist that we are trying to get pregnant and he said it would be fine but then the leaflets with the tablets say you must tell your doctor if you are "pregnant or trying to become pregnant".

I've done some searching on the internet but just finding contradictory stuff.

Not sure if I should forget ttc for this month I'm on them for 7 days and due to ovulate this Weds

Any views?

i think if the dentist has said there ok i wouldnt worry to much and if you are worried ring your doctor x

Thanks rbryan. I've just called a pharmacy and spoke to the pharmacist who said it was fine. She said they had recently checked with a doctor about another person in the same boat, and the doctor said it was fine.

So I'm going to carry on!

and my friend fell preggo while taking antibiotics, i think they make u extra fertile lol xx
