Do I have to have a little tree up on a table or is it possible to have a normal tree and somehow stop baby pulling it over etc? What does everyone with crawlers do?? Can you get a 'tree-guard' to put round it?

i was thinking the same earlier, Tegan will probably be walking by christmas & no doubt be pulling everything off the tree! i 'think' im going to put it up and hope for the best! x

I was thinking this the other day. Lacey never bothered with the tree but charley's into everything so think it'll be harder to keep him away. I'm gonna put it up but hope for the best x.

My lil man hates bristles so I think he'll take a feel and then realise its bristley and scarper

Damn, it's a shame they arent like cats where you can just spray lemon juice Round the place to keep them away

You're in for a shock J  Nothing like cats

My wee girl was just under 9 months 3 years ago at Christmas and she never bothered with it. With 2 boys at just over 1 I'm sure a tree is a terrible idea but I don't care it's going up come hell or high water and will be surrounded by barricades, nothing will stop me from getting my beloved tree up

Mine was blocked into a corner with sofas last year ad it was actually ok! A few bits of munched up salt dough, but it was defo better than expected!

Ooh good idea re blocking in with sofas, think I will try that...that's if she can't climb over them by then lol!

Tegan's got no fear and is climbing onto everything, she climbed onto a dining room chair earlier. hate to think what its gonna be like once she's walking!! x

i was think ing this too! :( good idea with the blocking in of the sofa! another reason to rearrange the living room hehe! My OH is gunna scream at me if i rearrange it anymore!

We alwhays did a tall fake tree so no nasty needles for babies and then only the top half was decorated !! It was in a tub weighted down with padded wrapped bricks I think? It looked well silly , but did the job, it didn't move, fall and no bits of baubles or chocky was taken / broken / eaten!

I have a changing table in the corner of my lounge, maybee I will put mine up on there , and change him on the floor again for a month (only keeping change table in my cramped lounge at mo cause my best mate has been TTC for about 3 years since her 3 mth MC, and she really wants it, but is superstitous , naturally).

It's a shame that the presssies won't be able to go under tree in december , we went back to doing that when kids got older and now Devon is here, he will open / rip all the pressies again!

mmmh, I might have a better suggestion than my initial "lemon juice" one

What about......... if you have a fire-guard that you don't use, wrapping it in xmas paper and then surrounding the tree with it? Or would l/o just go crashing on through regardless?

Thought that was more of a constructive idea
