I'M SO EXCITED ABOUT CHRISTMAS!
Does anyone know how many days exactly it is? Where's LisaJ? I know she has a ticker in her sig

Anyway, I don't think this has been posted before but... how does one stop your excitable 16 ish month old (as she will be around 16 months at Xmas) NOT pulling the tree plus decorations over ehrself/ripping open all presents?

The only thing I can think of is to put a playpen ROUND the tree

Arianna never touched it last year when she was 17mths, each night we let her switch on the lights on the tree in the garden and that was enough excitment for her....

This year however I am dreading it! She is so nosy!!! I have already had to put the gifts I have bought so far into the garage as she keeps looking in all the bags - she helped herself to a jigsaw that I had bought for her stocking while I was cooking the dinner the other day :wall:

lol.. im dreading it! think we r gonna go with a mini tree again :p

I am not sure, we're a bit worried too - I've enough bother keeping her hands out of the loo/bookcases/various baskets etc at the moment.

We always have a big real tree and its big and sparkly.

Valentine Xxx

Oh dear!

Yup, I think I'll get one of those stand alone playpens..... our Christmas tree is also HUGE and sparkly, and real....it's not even so much the child I'm worried about, it's the delicate, antique family heirloom decorations :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I know when we were growing up my mother always said she never but anything under the tree "cause santy brought it on christmas eve" she also used to have to put the decs abit higher up but that wasnt cause of us kids but cause of the cat

when kiara was small we used to strategically place the tree in front of a hanging picture.take the picture down off the wall and put it away til after xmas.put a small hook in the wall so that after xmas the picture you rehang will hide any hole left.tie a piece of string around the trunk of the xmas tree about 3quarters up and then tie it to the hook in the wall so that the tree is secured to the wall by the string.the tree doesnt have to be close to the wall to squash it just leave a length of string so that it just stops the tree from toppling.does that make sense?it worked for us.we also put glass baubles at the top of the tree and plastic at the bottom.

Here's my ticker ZS!

Erm, Angel will be 8 months and definately crawling by then and a bit bothered about the tree, but i will never leave her on her own with it so i think we may be fine.

I'M SO EXCITED!!!

You have to use the 'N' word repeatedly. With my girls this worked.

Not so sure if it's going to work this year with a 22 month old boy.......

Im not sure, i have quite a big tree and with Stephen i had to tell him no and he had to just look at it - he still trys too climb in it! :rotfl:

Im dreading this! Lovella is into everything and will deffinately go for the tree constantly so im going to have to re-think, or maybe put it up in the front room actually
