jamie had some milky buttons today ...wasnt too inpressed!!!

Brody loves ice-cream and has the odd chocolate button. :)

I've made some shortbread with less than half the usual sugar... Oscar loved it!
Other than that - nothing! I've sworn that he won't sample any chocolate other than dark chocolate... not just yet though.

Oops, just remembered... Oscar tried some of my frozen yoghurt the other day and got quite upset when it was finished! :D

Emilia xx

Aimee has had ice cream and ice lollies when its really hot. Gave her a jaffa cake the other day too but won't be doing that again cos she just rubbed it into the floor and made a right mess.

lol yeah we havent given him another one since, we had to strip him and get him in the bath after he had it, we had to wash his chair too, altho in the pic it doesnt look dirty.

the other sweet thing i give him is rice pudding, we buy pudding rice and low fat stuff to go in it and make it ourselfs.

xx

Ahhhh rice pudding she's had.

So so easy to make! 3 ingredients (pudding rice, sugar and milk), bung it in a oven dish and cook on low for 1.5-2 hours. Really nice and creamy, mmmmm love it aswell :D

Must admit i give Jack tastes of loads of things, but it his his daddy who is a sod for givimg him biscuits and stuff when i am not looking

Jaffa cakes are one of his favourites and he has right hissy fits when he has eaten it

oh a hyper attack. my nephew was given jelly beans when he was 6 at a bowling alley and he crawled down the lane after the bowling ball. his uncle was so stressed :rotfl: :rotfl:

Im at the unfortunate stage now where everytime we go into a shop Jessica starts wanting wine gums. Ive noticed the more treats she gets the less fruit she wants so im trying to reverse this. Just taking my eye off the ball for a minute has done this so im having to be carefull.

Mark does this too!!
Damien has had ice cream, cake, crisps, and an occasional peice of chocolate, but he doesn't really have them alot or much of them, he just ike to have whatever I'm having. He likes Haagen Daaz (sp?)

oohh get Damien, he likes the posh ice-cream. he's got the right idea. he's going to cost you a fortune.

LOL tell me about it

Last night me and OH decided to rent a film out, get something nice for tea and open a bottle of wine. Started well with Damien sitting quietly and dozing off a bit, then we brought our food out to eat and he suddenly was hungry  so he had some mash but turned his nose up. Then came the ice cream, surprise surprise he loved it. Me and OH barely got to watch the film though as Damien didn't drop off til nearly half 10!

Probably high on sugar!

Ella stares at us when we're eating too so I normally give her one of her snacks. We hardly ever ate fruit as children (me and my sisters) because we always had chocolate/crisps in the house, so would choose that. Plus my mum never encouraged us to have a piece of fruit instead. I am going to be the opposite with Ella - I've struggled with my weight, skin and have lots of fillings and I know it's down to my upbringing and relationship with food. When I was brought up good behaviour was rewarded with sweets, having a bad day was rewarded with puddings and we always used to have 'something nice' after tea. In the evenings I'd snack on biscuits, crisps and rubbish whilst watching tv which is something that I'm still finding hard to get out of the habit of. I saw a child pyschologist as I was so hyperactive and again am sure that was due to my diet.

Every parent is different and I am not trying to cause an argument or trying to offend anyone (so please don't take my post as that!), I just wont be giving Ella icecream, biscuits or cakes at the moment as personally I don't feel that she needs them when she's so into the tastes and textures of fruit etc.

personally (my view so dont take offense)

i think that you should let a child have a treat occasionally meaning a small sweet. i think that if you dont allow a child these occasionally when they are able to get sweets they tend to over induldge.

i always had a quality st tn filled with sweets but i choose to eat the fruit more. i am talking about when i was 8 onwards, if you gave joshua a tin of sweets now he would eat until he :puke:

I agree Davina, Emily has tub for sweets which grandparents have bought etc.... but she only has something occaisonally, me on the other hand.....

I sorted this tub out the other day and loads of it had gone out of date it had been there that long, she will happily eat fruit all day

I think the thing to remember is to give sweets as treats not as snacks this makes all the differance, i always used to carry a bannana and rice cakes in my bag for her, and i still carry packets of raisins and i do the same for Jack
