Tooth abscess

Hi there
This is my first post I am hoping someone can help me. I have an abscess on my back tooth which appeared yesterday! Its getting big and painful! I am freaking out that some how this could be bad for my wee baby I can not get to a dentist till Monday I was wondering if anyone knew if it could affect my pregnancy?

Urgh, I had an abcess too - if it's really bad you can go to a drop in centre and get antibiotics if you can't get to the dentist for them, but don't worry yourself, won't cause any damage by Monday!

I had this when i was pregnant with jacob. It was agony and i was concerned coz (TMI) i was swallowing the puss from it

I had to go to an out of hours dentist but all you can take for the pain is paracetamol and its pretty useless for dental pain. I got anti biotics but i needed two courses because the safe ones for pregnancy are so weak.

It didn't affect my pregnancy, it was just a royal pain in the ass and bloody painful. Hope you feel better soon xx

Yeah it is the yukky pus stuff which is freaking me out! lol! Its disgusting!!! I am gonna go beg my dentist for an appointment tomorrow Not being able to sleep is driving me nuts

I had an infested wisdom tooth at about 10 weeks. Antibiotics cleared it up pretty quickly and I took Paracetemol with Codine which was much better then just Paracetemol. I just got the ok from my doctor over the phone.

Hope you feel better soon. As far as I know there is no risk to the baby

Thanks Catty! Tooth ache is the last thing I thought I would be worrying about just now Just got a break from the morning sickness and along comes the abscess
