Today's appointment

I had my 24 wk today. The midwife asked if they had booked me in at the hospital for an overdue appointment after my scan (normal practice).

They had said 41 wks, but the modwife there came to the desk (obviously having checked the notes properly or having a memory relapse or something) and said 36wks. So that got booked.

Anyway today the midwife said thatshe didn't know why that was (I had assumed it was normal as I am having a good prenancy). She was looking through my notes saying "I don't know why that is", before finally suggesting that it is to do with the fact that I am only about 4ft 10 .

As the midwife said, as long as your pelvis is the right size it doesn't matter about your height..

Is it? I don't have a clue what the appointment involves. I didn't even know why it was given me until the midwife said that.

I guess its different in each area, but looking at my notes its shows that you get 3 extra MW appointments if its your first baby.

I don't know, but that's the midwife. This is the hospital..

I shouldn't be going back to the hospital. The midwife was surprised so it is not routine like I thought.

It would be good to see bubbly again though if that is what I'm going in for. I won't get my hopes up though incase.

where i live hun we have a routine consultant appointment at 36 wks where we also usually get a scan to check babies position and weight etc xxx

This isn't routine. I've already said that . I thought it was but the midwife was shocked. I guess I will find out in January what will happen, unless anyone else has had a similar experience?? Probably not many people on here at 4ft10 though

Sure it will all be ok, wouldn't worry about it
