Hi All!

Just a post to ask about sleeping - or not sleep as the case goes!

For the past couple of years I have suffered with Initial insomnia which mainly comes and goes but the last 4 months has been constant. The medication I am on is Immovane / Zimmovane - Strong stuff and nocks me out each night to be honest apart from when I have found out I am pregnant - I have not touched one (its been 1 week :0)!

Now can anyone help advise or has been through how to get to sleep without medication?

Baths, soft music, deep relaxation cds, kalms, I feel like I have tried everything and am getting so so irritable feel sorry for everyone I know!

Am considering a sleep clinic - Cognitive Therapy like hypnosis - Private or is there anything else my doctor can do as now im pregnant so what is there?

I can cope with morning sickness but not not sleeping for months to come :((

xx

What time do you roughly get to sleep at each night? And what time do you get up? X force yourself to get up at six every morning, no matter how many hours sleep you've had the night before. Before you go to bed ask your oh to give you a massage, you can look up online what works best to make you sleepy x see If you can fall asleep after that, it may take a few nights of trying x my mum suffered from this and was on medication. When she got pregnant she had to stop, and this worked for her x

If all else fails ask your gp if there are any drugs safe to take in pregnancy to help you sleep xx

Thanks for your reply :) it's the getting to sleep thats the problem once im asleep i usually sleep through, it's just odd as i can be falling asleep one minute then the minute i get into bed its like ive eaten a million blue smarties lol My OH does 'massage me' in a sense as I aslso have eczema so juat before bed he moisturises me which helps but only works when having a sleeping pill aswell, its like a switch is turned and i get adiment im not going to bed!
xx

Aww :( Maybe you could treat yourself to a new matress or something!! :D Maybe that will do the tric? Or you and OH could into bed to watch telly lol :) xx Hope you can get something sorted out chick xx

I find reading a book for half an hour before bed really helps - worth a shot - oh but make sure its a good story book, no horrors!!
