Hi,

we're selling our house and anyway we have boards in our bathroom and Mel just wants to tip cups or handfuls of water over the side when he's in the bath which is not good as it soaks through the towels and gets the floor and I worry about the ceiling below because of the cracks. Also he LOVES water play, just tipping water from one thing to another so it occurred to me this morning that if I got one of those bath tray things that go across the bath he could use it as a table (it has holes in) and play to his heart's content and hopefully be less inclined to bail the water over the side as I think he just wants to be able to put the cups on a surface for easier pouring. 2.99 from Wilkinsons and we are all ready to go tonight! Fingers crossed it works, just thought I'd share!

Thats a great idea, oh gosh my time for hope doing that will be here soon the monkeys

what a great idea hun good luck hope it works :D xxxxxxx

Hope so! Thing is that I've tried taking things that he can pour with out of the bath but he just uses his hands or lies back and splashes! I feel mean that I won't let him make the kind of mess he'd like to at the moment because of our house viewings too- I just don't dare let him lose with paint etc and try to get him to sit down with crayons otherwise they'll be all over the walls etc! We had 6 viewings over the weekend and 3 this morning so we have been mostly out walking the streets otherwise it's chaos in here within minutes of getting him down from his pushchair. Hey ho! We sell again soon (our house buyer fell through when we were 4 weeks away from exchange the Thursday before last- we have a house we want to move to and have done all the searches for and everything so it's a race!)

I have lots of books of activities to do with your toddler but they are ALL messy or would be if Mel had anything to do with it!

We had one of those bath thingies when I was little. My mum was doing a photography degree at the time so she used to give me those little plastic pots the films came in to play with in the bath. I had hours of fun lol... its always the little things isnt it

Too true! Actually that's a great idea as we live round the corner from a photographer's shop and he's always leaving boxes of those pots outside! Thanks! The shelf was a total success, no floor spills- hooray! Only problem was that even after 30 mins and a cold bath he did NOT want to come out and my OH had to grab him out of there with his little legs kicking like crazy!
