I am currently at 14 weeks with twins and I have been pretty concerned about my mental health as of lately (the past month-ish) and I don't know where else to get some opinions/advice. I know that "pregnancy brain" causes you to forget things here and there but can it cause you to feel like you have full blown dementia?? I have a very hard time connecting with people and I feel for my S/O who is doing his best with everything. I haven't felt like myself in a while now. Not being able to think or even see as well?? I very much feel like I'm not here on earth and like I'm in some kind of dream land. It's very scary and as someone with PTSD I am stressing myself out more than necessary feeling like I have a brain tumor or something. Any insight or similar experiences? Thank you!

I had a panic that I had dementia too yesterday! I was watching a movie that kept jumping about in time and to all diffrrent characters and it just didn't make sense. I was so scared but then DH wasn't following it either so I decided it wasn't just me and turned it off.

I think pregnancy brain does make everything so fuzzy and if you're not sleeping well (sleeping on my side is so uncomfortable!) it makes it even worse. So it's not just you and probably completely normal but maybe check with your midwife if it gets worse, things like anemia can make you very fuzzy headed too and it's a simple fix of getting more iron.

The not seeing clearly is another mad pregnancy thing too. Something to do with extra blood and the heart beating harder puts pressure on your eyes. Apparently it goes away after bitlrth when your blood level goes back to normal.

It’s probably just baby brain. I’m a Japanese teacher and completely forgot half the Japanese language when I was pregnant. I also forgot where I was meant to be, what I was meant to be doing... quite embarrassing at work!! I found baby brain was the worst at about 12-16 weeks. You almost definitely don’t have dementia or a brain tumour lol

Pregnancy can make your eyesight worse too. It doesn’t always change back either. I’m only 2 weeks postpartum but my eyesight got a lot worse in pregnancy and so far hasn’t improved!
