think im losing my baby bean

if you have had your booking visit maybe ring your m/w explain whats happened and tell her how worried you are and that you want a scan i hopeeverything is ok for you x

If they have seen a HB then there is a 98% chance you will carry this baby to term which will be why they're not keen to rescan.

If you want a private reassurance scan and you shop around, you can find them as cheap as £50 :)

oh my god thats rediculous. the hospital i go to was amazing. when i bled the heard the heart beat but still sent me for a scan the next morning anyway. i cant believe the are making you wait so long. i'd definately look into a private one. i know the place local to where i live does them for £75.

on the plus side, if the blood has gone to a darker colour its not fresh blood anymore. is that not a good thing?

remember alot of girls can still have their periods whilst pregnant!

i hope everything sorts its self out, and think about the private scan like everyones suggesting, at least for your own piece of mind. i know id go mad with worry waiting that long.

good luck xx

Hope everything turns out ok Hun! Like merv's mum said I always thought once you've seen the heartbeat the chances of m/c drop to 5% or around that. Got my fingers crossed for you and try to rest! x x x

this is the 4th time ive tried to type this, my computer keeps closing the page, but i'll try again lol

ive noticed on alot of other posts etc that some women have been given blood tests at gp's, a&e or epu when they started bleeding, to check the level of hormones. just to make sure they are normal. if they come back low i think they can warn you that it may be a m/c. which im sure they wont be. but maybe it be worth a trip to your community midwife at your gp's and asking about a blood test, it might help put your mind at rest abit until your scan anyway.

good luck x

thank you all and clairo for your 4th time trying to type!!!
my midwife isnt back in till tomz so as hard as it going to see how things go today!! just had a lovely sleep for 3 hours so just trying to rest as much as possible.
the fact the blood is now dark and im not getting any tummy pain just abit of backache im praying all is ok.

mervs mum thanks i did feel alittle better when i have read that if they have already found a heartbeat then thats good sign its just the fact the lady on the phone gave me no reasurance or advice

Good luck honey and hopefully you can see your midwife quickly to set your mind at ease. xx

heya there i bled with my 1st pregnancy all was fine it was so panicky but very common i know its hard to think positive as you always assume the worse but do stay positive its more common than you think, are you still bleeding? heavy? good luck hun xxxxxxxx

Louise I had EXACTLY the same as you, just a week or so earlier. I had enough red blood for it to fill my knickers, but then it turned dark brown and although I did spot dark brown then enough to have to wear a pad for two weeks all is well and I am now 18+2. I think if it's not a lot and it is now brown it really is a good sign. Fingers crossed for you xx

thanks mrsw and astonsmum its now brown blood so old and only when i wipe dont need to wear anything in knickers!!! i have a really really bad backache but no tummy pains and still being sick so trying to stay positive its been nearly been 24 hours since it started so i hope i should have known by now by having strong cramps or heavy bleeding, clots by now

Have been doing lots of reading up now this is happening to me as well and if all you are getting is spotting and no pain then that seems to be good news. Fingers crossed it all settles down fast.

I spoke to my mw about bleeding today cos I had bright red spotting and I was worried because of the colour. She said that because it happened around the time I was due a period it was probably 'breakthrough' bleeding where your body hasn't caught up with the idea of you being pregnant!
Hope you're ok, I know it's so hard not to worry! :)

 HOpe everything's ok - it's such a good sign that it hasn't got any worse and that it's not red any more. As becky said above it's quite common to bleed at around the time a period might be due, which would be the case at roughly 8 weeks, and all pregnancies are so different so I wouldn't let the fact that it hasn't happened before worry you too much. So sorry the epu didn't reassure you more though :(

yeah sams mum i just wanted the epu too say what you ladies have said that is quite common and the fact no pain is good!! fingers crossed my midwife tomz will be more understanding

tmi but the last time i wiped there a brown stringy bit about half the length of my little finger but thin wondering if that was what was coming away?

when i bled it had stringy bits but they were bright red and by that point the main bleeding had stopped and it was when i went to the loo. i got all panicy thinking it was me going into very early labour but the midwifed seemed convinced it was nothing to worry about. turned out i had thrush and it was discharge along with the blood. ive had it alot during pregnancy (thrush not bleeding). your mw should hopefully shed more light for you on whats happening tho, better than the epu. hope all is well.

That all sounds really positive- I think the bleeding would have got much worse and more painful if there was a problem. Take it nice and easy hon and try not to stress too much. xx

annie i thinking the same that i think it would have got worse by now but dont wanna be over confident!!
rung my midiwfe and she listen but said i should ring the epu again as thats who she would have to make a referral too so early on!! dont wanna ring them again incase they think not her again lol

Call them hon and tell them your midwife told you to - it may have more weight. You pay your taxes hon and that's what the nhs is for- to look after us when we need them. Let me know how you get on. x
