i got a call from the doc that treated me in hospital yesterday. i was expecting the call cuz she said she would call to see if the bleeding had stopped after two weeks and poss get me in for a scan to see if everthing had gone.......
ANYWAY... she didnt ask about any of that atal...
she said that when i was miscarrying she sent a sample to the lab to be tested. im assuming this is standard procedure. the results came back from the clot and it was just blood...nothing else, no pregnancy tissue there atal.
she said that becuase of how heavy the bleeding was chances are i had m/c but to be sure i needed to do a preg test and call back. she explainned that HCG can stay in ur system up to 2 weeks after a m/c so it may still be a faint possitive but they needed to be sure......
well off i went to the shop to get a preg test, gob smacked becuase i didnt think i'd be buying one again til we were ttc again. as it was 2 weeks ago i m/c i was pretty much convinced it would be negative so i popped a bottle of vodka in my shopping basket looking forward to an afternoon of alchol therapy......
got home, done the test.......POSITIVE. not faint, there as strong as you can get positive. fu*k. so i called her back and explainned what had happnened. she said i neeeded to come to the hosp for a blood test (25 miles away grrr). she explainned the home tests were very sensitive and they needed to see if the HCG was above a certain level.
got back home had a cuppa tea, expecting my result to be below this level and started to relax. well the doc called back at 9pm and said my levels were still unusually high and i will need to come back in 48hours for another blood test to see if the levels have risen or fallen. christ.
so here i am waiting til tomorrow for another blood test to see what's happening....
when i was in hosp for my m/c the scan lady said that my uterus was small for 11 weeks so i thought i had poss had a missed m/c, if so would HCG still be in my system after all this time? she also added that she couldnt see my uterus very well and it was filled with blood so im wondering if maybe something was there and she just couldnt see it.
because there was so much bleeding and clots i didnt notice passing any preg tissue, sac or anyting. could i still be pregnant? or could it have been twins and ive lost one? twins are in my family so i had wondered if i was having more than one all along. or maybe its all been a false alarm and its taking longer than normal for the hormones to leave my body. god i dunno.
