I am rhesus negative and OH is positive. charlotte was also positive and I had an anti D injection when she was born. I was told yesterday at the EPU that I wouldn't need one after the m/c as it was a complete m/c although my midwife said I should insist on it. They wouldn't really take me seriously and said that current procedure is to only give anti D if you need medical intervention. I have asked them to do a count on the blood results to see if there are any antibodies present, but I am not sure if they will. Everything else I read says that if you have a m/c you should have anti D. Does anyone else have expereince with this?

Sorry to read about your loss.

I had 3 miscarriages and had an Anti-D injection after each EVRPC procedure. However when I started bleeding at 8 weeks with my third, I wasn't given Anti D when I went to my GP as he said it wasn't given to women with bleeding unless the bleeding was experienced after 12 weeks gestation.....There seems to be some grey areas surrounding the protocol used when administering Anti D after pregnancy loss.

I'm rhesus negative as well and with my recent miscarriage I asked 2 midwifes about it and they both told me at wasn't necessary unless you were over 12 weeks pregnant.

Didn't think at the time to ask why as I was too upset but I've been wondering about it since. Maybe it's something to do with when the placenta takes over or something??

I wasnt given one after my miscarriage either.

Im sorry i oly know very little about this but just wanted to give u a hug

i had to have the jab. i had misoprostol and then miscarried at home. i miscarried at just under 12weeks, but they said my baby was 9weeks wen it died. not sure if that helps or not xx
