IAlso most had playstations in their rooms and had sky TV in their rooms -many watched "men and motors" at night and thats like a soft porn channel!! ( not in my opinion suitable for rapists!)

  I must be so niaive! I had no idea! That's outrageous!

kris has been to prison he says its not a punishment atall.

No its not and thats the problem there is no deterent.. many just end up sleeping their sentence away and do bugger all all day apart from play games and watch tv!!

I know one guy who was released and purposefully got arrested and banged up again just so he could have 3 meals a day and a warm bed to spend the night in!

these women have not only been murdered and had their lives took away but they have been dragged through the mud for being prostitutes. personally its not a profession i would do but can anyone tell me I(F there was no alternative then you would do it to put food in you babies mouths? that if there was no other way to feed and clothe the most prescious thing in your life you wouldnt do it? i would and im not ashamed to admit it there isnt anything i wouldnt do for Alfie id cut my arm off id die for him and imsure many feel the same ... ok so the main reason is for drugs but no one knows thats why those girls were doing it, its been assumed. no one deserves to die my heart goes out to their friends and families over christmas and i just hope the other working ladies stay safe. as for if it was legalised it would make husbands boyfriends cheat thats complete rubbish if a man is going to vheat hell cheat whether its legal or not or with a working girl or not.

prison is a joke, im sure if it was Blairs daughter who had been murdered then that murderer would be locked up forever.

prison is a joke, life doesnt mean life and they get wrapped up in cotton wool when theyre inside.

if i was Prime minister id dig a big hole in a field, drop the murderers, rapists and peodophiles into it and chuck all the dirt back in.

I might run for parliament soon...

glad i have ur vote glitzyglamgirl!!!

I agree, aslong as shes not another Thatcher!

I think there needs to be someone willing to tackle the causes of these problems and not just half-hearted atempts at cleaning up the mess they leave!

I reckon they should stop putting people inside for stupid petty things like TV lisence problems and start making life sentences stick without them being pampered!

absolutely. so many crimes stem from underlying social problems. i'm not for one minute saying i would know how to go about sorting it out, but then i'm not a politician. but i do belive that people should take a lot more personal responsibility for themselves and their families, and not just expect the state to bail them out all the time.

and i would also like to point out that neither of the 2 arrested men have been charged with anything yet. the police did NOT release their names, but the news people found out this information from local people desperate for their sick little 15 minutes of fame.

If they turn out to be guilty then lock them up and throw away the key, but what if they're not and now their names and pictures have been broadcast all over the world. i think it's really irresponsible of the BBC and others to release this information when they've so far only been arrested.

And to think all of your hard earned taxes will fund the serial killers lifestyle in prison. And he will probably have a better life on the 'inside' than many people do on the 'outside'.

I think the death penalty should be brought back for special cases when there clearly is no doubt of the murderer. A serial killer is a prime example. Another example is anyone that was behind the 9/11 attacks.

These kind of people have zero conscience and if they did wouldn't do what they have done. And no form of punishment will work.

Completely against the death penalty - think its a barbaric way of dealing with people. Also its not a deterrant, and also do we make exceptions? I think that the prisons should not be used except for those that pose a risk of harm to the general public, so no more jail terms for petty offenders as it just gets them institutionalised and there should be tougher and longer sentences for more serious offending.

A death penalty is an easy way out in my opinion, serial killers, rapists, paedophiles etc should be made to live out their sorry days in dark and depressing conditions with no privledges. Perhaps they would reflect on what they have done but i doubt it...they rarely have a concsience.

I hope the monster(s) who killed these poor women gets brought to justice... They are still women, who have souls, feelings, thoughts...they breath the same air we do...what they do for a living is irrelavant.

Deterrents imo will only for smaller crimes like theft.

In nearly every country in the world there are murders despite having the death penalty or not. IMO it is not a factor for a serial killer. They are so twisted in the head that they have one goal and that is to murder and nothing will stop them.

There are people that you can't rehabilitate. For instance with the school shootings, 99.9% of the time they kill themselves once they have achieved there goal. What would happen if somehow they managed to get caught? They go to prison and have a better life than a lot of people on the outside while taxpayers are funding it.

It costs more to put someone to death then to keep them locked up. And I don't know about a better life, I for one would prefer to have my freedom then a playstation. Whenever I walk out of a prison I am grateful to be out.

If people cannot be rehabilitated, and pose a risk of serious harm to society which cannot be managed in the community then they should not be released.

I've been discussing this with my mum today, trying to work out why it's illegal (prostitution that is, I know why killing people is illegal). Everything we thought of was to do with the seedy world surrounding it, not the actual prostitution itself. It's degrading to women, but why? It's only degrading to women because it's illegal, the culture which surrounds it and because society says it's degrading. That somebody wants to pay a woman because she has a good body and is 'good at her job' should be flattering. The whole sex outside marriage / loving relationship issue was used in the past, but that's irrelevent these days. And if a bloke is going to get sex outside his relationship, isn't it better that he gets it 'no strings attached' than forming an emotional attachment to a mistress.

Until this last week, I'd never really thought about it. It's not something I'd want to do (noone in their right mind would want to pay me  ) but why should we demonise these women.

I think this is a contoversial subject of which there will be many differing opinions. I think beanie has a good point, after all, she works with them and knows more than any of us what goes on. However, I don't see the point of some people being on this earth when all they do is hurt others :?

i dont agree with the death penalty either. it means they they dont have to suffer with the guilt they may feel after a few years. Plus imagine how you'd feel if you were a juror who voted for the death penalty, and the person's family decided to clear their name years later and it gets ruled that they were in fact innocent.

let them rot in jail. mangey old jails like back in the good old days.

prisons will never go back to the old crappy places they once were, if there is anythin unsatisfactory then the convicts call in their 'human rights'

well im sorry but once u rape or murder somebody u lose ur human rights and become nothin better than scum

well sky sure isn't a human right. I dont have sky so why should people in jail have it? I can't believe the government pays for them to watch porn
