Its the day I have to go to the Hospital to the Physio for them to have a look and see how im healing after the 3rd degree tear which I received due to a catalouge of errors thanks to my midwife when having Charley.

I have been trying to do my pelvic floor but its very hard when you have no feeling. I'm guessing that it is still shot to pieces as I carnt stop myself midflow when I go for a wee. It is the same when passing a motion when you have to go you do.

For the past week I have had a heavy feeling down below and pain near my back passage as if im getting spasms. It has started hurting again when I sit down. I think all stitches have gone.

I suppose I will just have to wait and see

aw hun

I hope you get good news xx

how did you get on?

i had my physio about 2 week ago for 3rd degree but they didnt take a look at anything. they just talked to me
ive got my rectal scan soon too to check its healed internally.

It wasnt as bad today as I thought. Talked through a lot of things mainly.

She had a look and I am managing to do my pelvic floor even though I carnt feel it. I have got to try and retrain my bladder and drink less fluid i.e. tea but eat more food.

She said that it looks like it is healing well from the outside. All stitches have gone but the soreness could have been down to wearing pads as I have just been through my first period since giving birth 7 weeks ago.

I have to go see a further specialist on the 16th May so he can do an internal to see if the stitches are disolving inside and if the healing process is going well. They will also go through if I want any further children but I have already been informed that it would have to be a c section. Then back to the physio on the 17th Mayso she can reasses.

They have also informed that if my and my husband can try to be intermate before going back then if we have any concerns to raise it with them..............We will see on this one.

They are also requesting my hospital notes so I can go in and sit down with a midwife and go through what happend in the labour and why things went horribly wrong when the midwife took over at 9pm. They seem to think because of the trauma which I sustained that I could possibly get Postnal depression as I keep reliving things and for the fact that I feel guilty for losing 4 hours of my sons first hours in the world as I was in surgery for all that time knocked out when I did finally come round I was doped up on morphine.

I must admit that my after care has been good.

bless you...

i'm glad it went well. i am seeing doc again this week...mine feels like it has gone backwards again :( xx

Let me know how you get one.

Im just dreading having the internal.

I gave birth 3 weeks ago and had 3rd degree tear. When I attempt a pelvic floor, my back passage tenses - not my front?? Anybody had similar? I'm scared I'll never be able to have sex again :-(

It does feel like its just your bum tensing but it is working the other muscles too. Do it weeing and stop the flow just to reassure yourself that it's doing it's job and the right muscles are also being worked.
As for sex, I am 9 weeks on and it's still very sore but I have had complications so you may be luckier than me.
Don't rush yourself xx

Im sure you are doing the pelvic floor correct. I have no feeling but like you it feels like its the back passage which tenses, it is working on your front as well. I did have to get the physio just to double check on Friday though.

Like Samsgirl says try and stop yourself mid pee and see how you go but dont be too disheartend if you find it doesnt work proply and wee isnt stopped. Im like this at the minute but as the physio said it could take a while.

As for sex. I'm meant to try before I go for my internal on the 16th May as if I find any problems I will be able to talk things through but it depends if im ready. Like I was informed on Friday 'it will be like your first time all over again'

Have they given you an appointment with a physio?
