nightowl, I found out today at my booking in why my hospital does the bloods at a different time to the scan.
Apparently they take them about a week before the scan so they already have the results when they take the measurements during the scan. That way they can tell you the results there and then instead of waiting for them and sending off letters.
Part of me thinks this is a great idea, because not only does it calm any worries about the results then and there, but also can give people the news of being high risk for Downs etc in person. Part of me is annoyed that this is yet another appointment I have to get to! (I now have 5 between now and middle of November...)
