The beginning of my first pregnancy

Symptoms before test/missed period:

• Tiredness
• Queasy
• Altered Appetite (being fussy)

We planned to wait about a week after I was late to buy a pregnancy test but we couldnt wait so after being about 2 days late on my period we bought two cheap tests from the pound store, both positive...one line very dark, one fainter but still very clear - this confused us abit and we didnt want to get our hopes up incase we misread it or something so we bought a clearblue digital one, cant misunderstand that PREGNANT 2-3 weeks!!


Not feeling queasy anymore, still tired and my appetite seems pretty normal now.


I'm very excited but nervous too because it's so early! Can't wait til it's been 3 month or so so I can go for a scan and tell the world!


My partner has told his mum, dad and brother & ive told one friend, my mum and my two sisters, I have another very close friend who I would love to tell but I dont see her as she lives too far so we write to each other so I thought if I can keep quiet until my first scan i can just send her a copy to tell her! I think that would be a nice surprise!

Whats the earliest I can have a scan?

Hi, I replied to your other threads in introductions and your pregnancy journal regarding how far along you are.
As far as scans go, you probably wont be offered one on the NHS until you are 12 weeks, unless you have a history of miscarriage or experience severe cramps/bleeding. If you have none of these but are desperate to have one before then you can book a private scan from about 7 weeks.

Hi there. Every pregnancy is different and some of the ladies on here don't experience any symptoms and some do it's a bit difficult to say what to expect. I had a sicky feeling but that didn't come at first and tiredness was a killer with me. I suffered a mmc last year and wasn't offered an early scan so I decided to wait until my 12 week scan as my thoughts were if its going to happen again a scan won't change it. I had some spotting last week and had a scan yesterday as a result and will of had two scans in the space of 12 days. I'm 10 weeks now and it's gone pretty quick to be honest but if you want some reassurance get an early scan because from experience seeing something rather than nothing like last time for me is reassurance in itself.
