HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE HERE I AM THREAD!!!!! Congratulations to all the original and new posters on a bl**dy amazing year and thank you for sharing all your experiences with us!

Sorry I haven't been round much - my folks are visiting at the moment and we've been so busy! Today we are going to look at houses locally to get a few ideas as they might be moving nearer us when they retire, which would be a big help! Ella is being lovely at the moment, giving us big smiles, loving us singing to her and now weighs 13lbs!

mb - happy 8 months birthday to Austin for yesterday, my little girl was 4 months old yesterday too - madness!

Love to everyone else - I'll be back properly next week!

Hi All!!!!
I'm baaaaaaccccccccccccckkkkkkkkkkkkkk!!!!!
We had a wonderful week last week, my sis was here until Wed afternoon, which was lovely, she stayed for 5 days, and I don't see her very often (she lives 4 hours away by train/ car) so it was great to spend some quality time!!
On Wed Libby was really unhapy, crying inconsolable and really hot, so took her to GP who said she had a cold, and keep giving her medised etc. At 2am on Thursday AM we ended up taking her to A&E as she was still upset, crying like sh was possessed (so scary), struggling to breathe and temp of 38.9c. They assessed her , her temp had gone down to 38.4 and murphy's law, had stopped the crying. They monitored her heart rate etc, then diagnosed her as having a viral infection of the upper airways, again, said to carry on with the medised, and ibuprofen if her temp stayed up, and that she'd be fine to travel.
So we got home 10 mnutes before we had to leave to make it to the ferry on time, quick shower & loaded the car and off we went.
She was very good and slept most of the way, was just in her vest as she was so hot, and by Thursday PM was back to her normal self
My camera broke when we arrived in Dublin, brand new batteries (tried diff types) but keeps saying battery exhausted, so only have pics that we took on ferry over.
Stayed Thursday in Dublin, then drove to Belleek on Friday, wedding was in Omagh on Saturday and Reception was at Lusty Beg Island near Enniskillen which was absolutely gorgeous, had to get a ferry across, only fit 2 cars on, I didn't think about the fact I had to drive back including getting the car on the ferry which was a tight squeeze width wise....one of the staff did confirm tht the ferry had onl sunk twice in the past 6 months (with cars on) so that was comforting
We missed our ferry back y'day AM as we got stuvk in traffic on the M1 which in N.Ireland is basically a dual carriageway, not like Englands M1 at all  so had to pay to get transferred to the next one which was 7 hours later :bored:
Went to Dublin and did some shopping and a lovely pub lunch, we are all full of cold though now, which I guess is what happens when you meet up with people from all over the UK, most of which have had some sort of illness :?
So, what did I miss (other than our birthday :( ) here are some Quality Streets for everyone

Quality_Street.jpg

Libby is now crawling everywhere!! Pulling at everything she can get within reach of  pull herself up to standing now not only on playpen but stairgates, furniture and worse of all the cot, which is a nightmare cos she won't lie down in it now at bedtime :shakehead: Just stands and yells dadadadadadadadadadadaaaaaaaaaaaa :talkhand:

Hope everyone is well...missed you

welcome back em sorry to hear libby was poorly hope shes better now  bless her crawlig eevrwhere and standing up in her cot shes such a clever girl now cant believe its nearly xmas is everyone read for xmas???????

ooh, yummy can I have the quality street - the whole tin?!

So sorry to hear that Libby has been unwell, sounds scary, I think I would be in bits!!

Sounds like you had a really busy time, I would like to get away somewhere and stay in a hotel - I love hotels they are my favourite!! My standards are high though - it has to be one with twenty four hour room service, anywhere that will deliver food at any time of day is good imo! I don't like staying in places that advertise that they have a trouser press and a hair drier - if that is all they've got to brag about..... :rotfl:

ER I love having my hair done, it is always quite refreshing! Thomas met Father Christmas he sat on his knee and just kept staring at him! I thought he was going to pull his beard off :rotfl:

Thomas is now standing loads, I am very pleased to announce that he did his first pee standing up!!! He was standing naked holding my hands and had his legs apart assumed the stance and peed all over the floor! Thats ma boy!! :rotfl:

Hi to everyone else

hello everyone!

Hi girls,

Its all go here - Ella and I are off on the train to Northern England tomorrow so much excitment - we're just going for a couple of days with some friends. We have to leave at 8am and I haven't packed as all the stuff I need is in our room where Ella sleeps - eek! I haven't got enough nappies either (have to use disposables as its a weekend away and I never buy them) so we have to stop at the shop on the way to the station - eeek - I'm so rubbish! I think I will be getting up at 6am or earlier to sort everything out! Worst thing is that I've been really lazy this week and we've just been mooching around the house mostly, so I've got NO excuse!

Ella is a wee superstar at the moment - she's so contented - very rarely cries and is such a happy soul - I feel so blessed to have such a lovely natured daughter - she is my whole world. She's come on leaps and bounds this week with grabbing and her interest in toys and books etc (and the remote control!). Silly, but I am slightly worried about going away and being judged on how I do things by my friends' parents (who we are staying with) - they won't hold back on their opinions and I'm worried as no-one has confirmed that the travel cot is in the room I'll be sleeping in and Ella and I haven't spent a night in a different room yet (I know I can move the travel cot, but you know what its like when you don't want to make a fuss at someone else's house).

Anyway - we'll be back on Sunday. Have a lovely weekend everyone and speak to you soon.

good luck V..

don't worry about what they think if they have kids themselvees then talk about how every stranger thinks they have a right to an opinion on how you parent your child all mom's will relate

As for moving cot...i know i have a friend who has a four year old girl and i say they change the advice all the time but they adivse sleeping with LO till 6 months old

anyhow.. motivation isn't always easy hope you get sorted

have fun
