Hi girlies,
Sorry haven't posted for a few days - its really stressful just now as we are trying to remortgage (have been trying since April as didn't want to be dealing with this when heavily pregnant/have newborn baby) and this week we were informed that our IFA had made a MASSIVE f*ck up and its been horrendous to sort out. We've put a lot of plans in place banking on this remortgage going through so cross your fingers for us for 16 Oct as its touch and go at the moment. We are considering complaining to someone about our IFA - would we complain to FSA?
Anyway - we've had a lovely week (apart from the above!) - I can't remember when I last posted on here (

), but on Monday we went to town (about 25 miles away) and met the girls from my NCT antenatal class with their babies, then went to meet another friend who has a baby 2 weeks younger than mine - she's still teeny tiny though - still under 8lbs - my porker was never that small, ever! On Tuesday and Wednesday we hung about at home, didn't do much really and today we went to a friend's house who has a 19 month old daughter - she gave me 2 whole bin bags full of 6 month+ clothes - I've had a good sort through, its all beautiful and lots of it is Rocha, John Lewis, M&S - lovely stuff. I'm going to have to label though before packing it away as she might (TTC) want some of it back and there's like 200 items! Then we went to T K Maxx and Asda - and I bought things for Ella as usual! A sleeping bag and a top and lots of other cr*p.
Ooooh I don't think I told you how I got on on Saturday on my day away from Ella - I think I did really well. I went into town with my girlfriends - we met for lunch and a charity shop browse. I left Ella for about 8 hours and although I missed her, I thought I did really well - I didn't have any real horrific pangs - I just was so looking forward to getting home to see her. I thought that it was really important for my OH and Ella to be alone together and for him to be in charge of caring for her for a change, rather than me hovering about, telling him what to do! I had a lovely, lovely day with my girlfriends - it was so much fun, I even had a half glass of wine (party on!)! I was
very successful in the charity shops - too! However, her big smiles when I got home made my day! I won't be leaving her often, but when I do, I know that she'll be happy and safe. I'm exclusively b/feeding so my boobs were v. sore when I got home! She took her expressed milk bottles from OH happily (we had been giving her a bottle of expressed milk a night from about 5 weeks to get her used to taking a bottle) and they had a lovely day.
I had a visit on Sunday from a local girl and her partner who are planning a home birth in December and wanted to speak to me about it. I'd never met her before but my local midwife rang me and asked me to phone her shortly after I had Ella so we've been in touch via email ever since and today they came to meet Ella and talk home birth some more. Somehow I've become a local expert - eek.
I went to Babies and Toddlers last week in the village - it was good but it's £2 and you don't get much for your money if you have a baby. The toddlers can play with the toys and get snack but it's a bit silly going every week at the moment. I'll go sometimes to meet local mums (its run by the lady who will probably be childminding Ella when I go back to work) but not every week as it seems a bit silly.
The big news is that Ella is sleeping through the night - woohoo! The bedtime routine is in place - starts about 6.15/6.30pm, she's in bed by 7pm, naps and grizzles for a couple of hours then falls into a deep sleep by about 9pm, sleeps til 6amish, then has a feed then usually lets me nap til about 9am! Woo hoo! She also has 3 l-o-n-g naps a day - I have the world's sleepiest baby! She's so chilled out, doesn't give a cr*p about her baby gym or toys, just likes to stare about and go for a snooze!
Ella will be getting her first injections soon but we haven't got an appointment through yet, I'm certainly not looking forward to them. In other news, Ella finally pooed on Sunday after 8 full days without anything - I know b/fed babies don't poo often but surely that was some kind of a record?! I don't think Ella is teething yet - I had thought she might be, but she had just found her fists and likes a good chew and thumb suck!
Christ - I should really post more often - what a lot of waffle!
Emmy - thanks for your PM earlier - sorry I didn't have time to reply, just to act! I would have commited murder by now (wanted to throw my tea at the phone earlier and the MIL was in Aberdeen - and it was yummy beer battered fish 'n' chips!)
trixi - Well done on your win! My crown has well and truly been taken this week! How is Millie's bedtime routine now? We are persevering with ours!
missac - How exciting getting new car seat - I am excited for you! You'll have to get him a steering wheel like D too! I wonder if you nearly pass my door when you drive up to Scotland - do you go up the A1?
Cloud - thanks for posting the pics of D! He looks so cool with his steering wheel! I missed the door bouncer bargain at Asda today - looked but it had gone! Also looked at Boots - you are such a good bargain hunter!
KK - Congrats on nearly finishing a hectic week at uni - I'm really proud of you! Hope you enjoyed your yummy brekkie - was it fried?
jm - Bless Jade for being a wee thing! My girl's a porker, she certainly doesn't take after Jade!

to everyone else!
I've been sitting here for ages so I'd better head to bed - not a fun thought as we are sleeping on THE MOST UNCOMFORTABLE BED IN THE WORLD (tm) - it's a futon thing from Ikea and we are trying unsuccessfully to save up for a proper bed as it's just awful - there's all these poles that stick into us and there's a big dip on my side from when I was preggers! I would love love love a full nights sleep in a comfy bed more than anything! Ha ha!
