Hi guys, not totally sure but think I may have had my show,

(sorry if TMI...)
I have been using epi-no for perineal training for weeks and recently made it to 8.5cms but on the second day reaching that diameter, had a bit of blood so took a break from for a day it thinking maybe Id been a bit overzealous and tonight I resumed only to 8cm, not as much blood this time but it did have mucus in it.

Now from what Ive read I'm sure tearing doesnt result in mucus coming out so hoping its my plug starting to come away but not sure...

I've googled the pics (I know yuk right but a girl has to check...) and defo looks like it but how much do you usually get as this was a bit stringy and like half an inch in length...? Could it just be starting to come away or could that be it?

Seen the midwife earlier today and no other symptoms but did have pink discharge a few days ago (before my bleed) thought maybe it was on its way...Think will give epi-no a rest for a few days and perhaps see if get more bloody mucus...

Could this be my show?

Didn't wanna read and run but i need to go Google what this epi no is!

Bless ya its amazing feel so confident about the pushing part of biryh now n know wat to expect but clearly reaching my limits on pre labour size. I know my body will do the extra 1.5cm during labour no probs due to hormones but when started using this at 26wks or so found 5cm a challenge so it will help. Just a pity it's confusing me on early labour sign spotting lol.

I looked it up
It's quite expensive
Do you not worry you're overstretching yourself to a point it wont fully return? (Like, y'know when people stretch their earlobes with those barrel things in the middle?)

Nope as amazingly it returns straight bak to size..again giving more confidence that all will return to normal after birth albeit it'll take longer.

Its worth every penny n much easier to do that perineal massage with thumbs which I did for like two days...if u look up research there is 50% less chance of tearing during birth n 20min shorter pushing phase as familiar sensations...

Wat do u reckon tho tear or part of my show?

Id imagine if you tore youd feel it
I've no experience with the shows
Could it be like a cervical erosion?

I know a lot get a little bit of blood in their discharge when having sex throughout pregnancy x

Some people can lose their plug all in one go,.for others its comes away gradually. When I got to 40 weeks with my first I was having snotty looking mucus when I wiped for about a few days.

Thanks Littlemonkey, will keep an eye on it, not had any since...the funny thing is had I not been bleeding I probably wouldnt have checked the toilet paper lol...I am now though - short of using a magnifying glass lol...

Its funny we have one tulip in our garden that this year decided to bud and have been wagering who will flower first lol, the tulip or my baby...unfortunately today it decided to flower...been beaten by a tulip : ( Oh well she will come when she's ready lol...

I can't really help as I never did notice my plug go last time, but I gotta stop by just to register some shock at the Epi-no (just googled).

Holy wowzers

Yeah shocking at first lacey but if you google it lots of women have used it n said they benefitted from it. I now have an idea of some of the sensations I will feel at the second stage n so shouldnt resist them as much - shouldnt bein operative word as nonone knows how they'll b til its time.

I've just had a look out of interest.

I found one sentence on their website rather amusing in that it suggests women choose a c-section because they're scared of tearing and this offers an alternative. Think there's a little bit more to the decision than that.......
