With charley it was straight away but that was because I was already claiming.
I think with Lacey it was afew weeks.

they told me to ring 3 weeks after sending it to them to check they have a) received it an b) if they have had any problems, if not, payment should be within 4 weeks the guy called bruce told me yesterday

i called tpday & was on hold for 15mins!!! only to be told its all not finalised!!!! grrrrrrrrrrr. does anyone know if child tax can get backdated???

It all gets backdated to the date u claimed-they backdated me over 3000 last summer cos it'd took them so long,v nice but I'd really struggled to make ends meet til they sorted it out x

thanks ladies. i spoke to them AGAIN the other day lol and he told me id would be backdated from 12th oct! my lo was born on 1st so not bad!!! =))

Niiice, I love it when you get some backdated My LO was born on November 28th so it wont be much backdated but I won't sniff at anything, heh. TBH, whilst i'm on maternity pay (which is more than enough for us to live on) i'm puitting her child benefit and tax credits in a savings account for when my pay stops because I wont be able to afford to go back to work so we'll need some savings to help us.

i cant wait for it to come through!!! i dont get maternity tho as my pregnancy and birth was abroad =((( i dont even know how much my child tax cedits will be! grrr

did they not give u a rough figure on the phone?

no! they said theyre still in the process of sorting it! i did it online and it was only like 500 for the year or something!!! eeek =(
