I'm trying to get LO off jars and onto what I like to call"peal people food" and it's going really well, but I'm a little confused about quantity?

LO used to have half a 7+ jar for his luxh and some fruit. Today I tied him on a dairy lea sandwich (one slice of thick sliced bread with a dairy lea triangle spread inside without crusts folded in half) and he ate all but left one little bit which he wouldn't eat. Gave him some mango after that and Then went down for his nap as usuall.

Is this enough for him or should I be trying. Get him to eat more?

No I would say that sounds about right.
I have days where Olly will eat like a pig and keeps asking for food and I think 'am I feeding him enough' then other days be only eats half his dinner and is full.
If he eats it all I would tend to add a little bit more, they will tell you if they are still hungry.
Olly is quite a bit older that your Lo but he would usually eat a sandwich with 2 slices of bread, butter and a filing (ham, cheese, tuna, dairy lea etc) then maybe a yog and an orange. He will always leave it if he is not hungry
Xxx

Maybe if you think he is still hungry try a snack in a hour or so

Xx

I think just keep offering stuff and you'll soon know if he needs more if he starts whinging after his nap. That's how I work out if Thomas had been eating enough.

We're still using jars on and off but when he doesn't have them he normally has a similar size sandwich to what you said, a couple of crisps and fruit pot and normally half a banana or similar size potion of fruit. But then I think it really depends on the baby.

Love the "what I call real people food" reminds me of Miranda lol

I've got his evening meals sorted now - he's having chicken and veggies or fish finger and veggies or omelette and I'm trying to diet his lunches so he sometimes has scrambled egg with cheese and half a slice if toast. He usually has 8pz bottle at2:30 and some fruit like banana or some crackers, sometimes a bit of cheese or some fruit or carrot puffs then his tea at 4:30/5:00

Like others have said, play it by ear. Even now I will offer LO a small portion and if he wolves it down I will give him more. Some days he eats like a bird and others he eats more than me!

Tonight he has a fish finger, a little broccoli, carrots and some potato followed by a few blueberries and a yoghurt, he's also had 1/4 a banana and some crackers.
