Sweeps!

I've been booked in for a sweep at 40+2. (1st July). Do they hurt?
My friends had her boyfriend do one for her at 39 wks and went into labour the following morning (probably coincidence as isn't a professional lol).
Just wondering how likely they are to work. Hopefully ill have my little baby by then thou and won't need one lol xx

I had one last week..
It was quite uncomfortable, but not painful. What I did think was painful was her trying to force her very large hand into my foo! But the sweep itself didn't hurt. I've got another one this Thursday too!
And if this doesn't work I've got an induction in 24th and I'll be 40+2 by then xx

I had a sweep and it didn't hurt at all just felt like a bit of pressure x

Haha!! She said (tmi on the way lol) he just stuck his fingers up as far as he could and swirled his fingers round lol

I had my appt at the clinic regarding my scans (from when I had reduced movements) which is why they wanted to do a sweep on my due date but that's a Saturday so waiting till the Monday.

Her hand up ur foof!?? Why her whole hand going up lol How do they actually do it?? Xx

Its their whole hand and then they put as many fingers in the cervix as they can fit. and sweeeep!

Dont think its as many fingers as they can fit. Think its just the 1 finger..

Not sure about how much of the hand goes in tho.. Some funky diagrams on google images lol xx

Ok so I've just watched an nhs video on sweeps on YouTube... (Least I hope it was nhs not just weird porn...) and didn't look like any of the hand went up. The mw presenting did say not to try a DIY sweep!!

I don't think u should do it urself because of risk of infections etc.
atleast the full hand doesn't go up... Think ill YouTube too lol xx

I'm not sure why, possibly because of the reduced movements so often. But I'm hoping she's here before. Lol

We just attempted sexy time (the most unsexy of times) gave up! I just can't get motivated lol urggggh!!! Xxxx
