me and Oh aren't married- but planned to tie the knot in a year or so once we've settled into family life with LO.

my mum thinks the baby should take my surname until we marry whereas I am more inclined to give it John's surname. In the long run it will mean not having to change it through deed poll when I change my name.

Any opinions on it...?

Really? We wern't married when we had Moo and she took my then boyfriends name. We're now married and all have the same surname but I didn't know anything about having to reregister her birth :?

My friend got married after she had her kids... and they originally had her surname, but she got to re register the children after she married and got the name changed. ! I don't think she did it by deed poll...

I changed my dd name to my surname after I left my ex... He refused to let my DD have my name. You definitely need a solicitor but it's really simple to arrange and only takes a short time.

hi hun our kids had my sir name and me and oh have just got married and i went last week and got the kids new birth cetificates with our married name on it took about 10 mins so dont worry about it :)
