Stretch and Sweep

I am booked in for one on Thursday (the 26th - day before my due date) and the midwife has told me my cervix is "very ripe and favourable" < pfft, silly midwife terms :L make you sound like a piece of fruit!! Lol. I was 2-3cm and stretchy at my last appointment last week but baby is only half engaged so got a bit of work to do in that department, but she says she thinks its likely to work because of the compatibility of my cervix. Fingers crossed!!

Basically who has had one done, and is it sore ? Im a bit nervous!! Did you bleed alot, or any? And did it work for you?, if it did, how long did it take to start working?

i had 1 at 40+3 and it wasnt uncomfortabl just odd. didnt hurt or anything, had bloody cm after for a bit then hind waters went at 4am. id had the sweep at 7pm ish that evening. 24 hrs later i had baby at 3.38am

had one with my first baby!! i was 4 days over and 2cm dilated when they did it, never even had a niggle!! i was induced the next day but baby was still stubborn and didnt come for another 33 hours and that was by section!!

After my internal last week I had a wee bit of spottin and had BH's all day after lol (iv a weak cervix) so hopefully that means my bodys on tender hooks n if she gives me a good rummage itl get the ball rollin :L xxx
