Hello ladies,

Just after a bit of reassurance or advice really, as the thread title suggests I've had static growth and my bump is measuring 28. I've dropped a few centile on the graph so they midwives were quite worried and booked me for a growth scan tomorrow (would've been today but I cant get there)
Baby's movement is great and apparently the head is really low down :/ which also worried me at 32 weeks :/!

Ive had growth scans before with my little boy in first pregnancy, and I was told it's because I'm tall and slim that my bump didn't measure big but baby was fine.
But can't help worrying that it's happening this time again.

Just nerve wracking going to the scan and the monitoring. Hope everything's okay :/
Had anyone else had this so early on? Well....32 weeks like me.
Xx

My aunt had static growth from 32-36 weeks and was induced just shy of 37 weeks. Her daughter is now a very happy, albeit very petite, 7 year old. It's such a worry, but bump growth isn't a good indication.

On the flip side, at 36 weeks in previous pregnancy I jumped to 39 weeks so went in for a growth scan, the predicted a nearly 10lb baby! As it was he was 8lb 12, they have no clue what caused the jump.

Easier said than done but do try not to panic

Bump growth is not a very good indicator of size but it being static is what usually causes them concern. It can be for a number of reasons though including position of the baby and placenta and whether you have a reduced amount of waters.

I had growth scans booked in as I had gestational diabetes with my 1st little one but he was measuring small at under the 5th centile but my bump measurements were fine.

Hope the scan went well today

I had static growth at 36 weeks but consultant wasn't concerned and said it was probably because LO was very low so this may be the case for you too.. I ended up being induced just before my due date :)
Xx

Oh goodness, lots of talk about being induced. Thank you for your replies.
I'm worried about being induced. Sounds silly but I have a little boy at home who I haven't left very much since having him. I'd hate for it to be a long process.or be away from him and my partner at home.
I also had a water birth which I'm praying for again! Is that even possible with an induction?
I'm probably jumping ahead of myself until I know things are okay'or not. I had to rearrange my scan till tomorrow morning as I didn't have childcare (very active little boy! Who wouldn't just sit there patiently at the hospital!) but I only rearranged due to movements being so good, they are okay in there for an afternoon X

No water births with inductions under my trust but I think some are different. Hopefully everything is ok and there's nothing to worry about, they're just tucked up in there nice and snug. Best of luck with scan tomorrow, will keep an eye out for an update.

I was induced and was in active labour for 6 hours.. came in at 8.30 am and had LO at 9.18pm xx

Baby update!
Everything was fine, baby growing nicely..just my bump isn't! Not quickly anyway!
Babies grown since last time and everything measuring lovely.
So as you can imagine feeling very tight, heavy and hard with bump! Not much room in there now!
Head is still low down so feeling very uncomfortable but happy everything is fine.
I don't think I'll reach my due date though....thank you for your reply's ladies x

My bump didn't grow last pregnancy but baby did :) not long left now x

So relieved to hear all is ok, baby must be feeling very squished now!

I was induced at 37 weeks as the naughty boy decided not to move. He doesn't stop now !
