Hi girls i am starting icsi/ivf on monday this will be my 2nd cycle my first cycle failed
I am a recurrent missed miscarraige patient lost 6 pregnancys 5 at 8wks one at 10wks and recently lost twins at 2mths in march just gone bringing my total of losses to 8 .
After being under a hospital near where i live for 12 yrs and had blood tests taken etc to find the cause
all tests have been coming back normal for 12 yrs .. After my last loss with the twins i decided to go to St marys in paddington London and have a second opinon .. They did some blood tests in september and i went back to get my results on the 4th november .. I was told i have 2 blood clotting disorders 1 called lupas which causes tiny blood clots in the placenta to form and cut oxergen supply getting to baby
i am so happy after 12 yrs and 8 losses i have finally got a answer to all my losses and i never thought i would ever get a answer .. I never would of if i didnt move to another hospital as my gyno at local hospital said in june after my loss in march there is nothing wrong with you so there is nothing i can give you and that means there is nothing more i can do for you .. i told him i was going to another hospital then for a second opinon and he said he cant see what she can do what he cant .. Erm that other hospital has just told me the causes for my losses after 12 yrs of him saying nothing was wrong ..

I cant wait to start icsi/ivf on monday and i will be testing over the christmas holiday round boxing day
i am praying this cycle will work and that i get some good treatment to use when i am next pregnant
to stop me from having another loss..

Is anyone elsa having ivf before xmas ??

Wow sweetie - you really have had a tough time of it over the last 12 years  I cannot believe your previous doctor was so dismissive, but all credit to you for persevering and getting another opinion, and being able to move onto the next stage.

Sorry that your first cycle didn't work, but hopefully this one will. It is pretty common for the first cycle of fertility aided treatment to fail, and very common for the second one to be a success, as your body becomes more receptive to the drugs. Lets hoping that is the case for you - what a wonderful Christmas pressie that would be!! I hope and pray you get a BFP, you certainly deserve it!!

I am currently on the huge waiting list for IVF, but in the meantime have been accepted for IUI which has a shorter waiting list. I was hoping to start my first cycle round about now, but it doesn't look like we'll get started until early next year.

I will be checking up on you sweetie to see how your treatment is going, and I have everything crossed for you.

Best of luck to you xxxxxxxx

 hun you have ahd an awful road to ttc i really hope your IVF works will be following your progressxx

Hi Huni

I am so glad that you have got an answer, I just can't believe you have had to wait so long to get your answers its so unfair :wall:

I'm not going through IVF this year, but I see my specialist on Monday and it looks like I will be having ICSI in the new year as we have been trying for 3 years with no luck.

Good luck this month and keep us posted. A few of the girls have a ttc diary in the 'trying to conceive with fertility issues' section. Maybe you could start a diary there and girls can come and add their help and support. I have one and its really helped me so far.

Good luck

Thanks girls for all your support  I will keep you all posted on my icsi outcome ...
Jule .. Fingers crossed for you hun when you have your IUI will this be your first IuI
you are prescribed clomid with IUI to give you more eggs and the hot flushes you get with clomid is a pain i had a go of iui last year and i had a fan by my bed cause of the hot flushes .. I dread this months double the dose hormone medication
i will be like a flame roasten hot in the middle of winter Lol

Rusks ... Thanks hun

Suzie 77 ... Fingers crossed for you to hun with your icsi when you start the treatment .. Thanks for the diary tip i will go along and start one now :)

 karenxx
